Just a lot of postering on all teams saying they're not interested in KD, acting interested or desperate only raises what a team would have to give up for him.

Only one team will get him - lots of teams don't want to explain to their current players why they were on the block.

We’re gonna get to a point in which keeping KD is better than dealing him if this is the compensation being offered in return.

Yeah, my guess is that Towns plus a couple of picks is going to look like a pipe dream when all is said and done.

I'd have a lot more confidence in a decent return if we didn't have a complete neophyte at the helm.

Magic also said the Knicks play too slow. Getting Kevin Durant would speed things up.

Spurs seem to be the current favorite, but there isn't much outside of the high draft pick(s) that interest me, as far as who may be available. Keldon Johnson? Meh. Career bench player. Harrison Barnes? Meh. Past his prime decent role player. Devin Vassell? Good player, but redundant with this roster, and I'm hoping we've learned from past mistakes with redundant position players.

Any discussion I have with SA starts with the 2nd pick, but if not there, then the 14th pick and Stephon Castle. Which SA likely won't do.

None of the current possibilities for trades really work for me at all to be honest. Houston is probably the highest in my view, but every narrative about them has focused on Book, not KD. And I'm in the camp that I'm 100% certain we aren't trading Book to anyone, let alone Houston.

I agree 10,000% in regards to SA. Literally everything from the assessment of players, the #2 pick, and wanting Stephon Castle.

I would go just a little further and say the prospect of a deal with any other team is more appealing because any future picks from SA will likely be bad. I don't believe SA would allow itself to be in a spot where they hand over valuable picks so I'd expect future picks to be protected or belonging to some other team, which SA might leverage so they'd keep the highest possible pick.

Shams Charania says a trade for Kevin Durant could happen with the next few days.

The focus has been on the Rockets, Heat and Timberwolves.

That would be best case scenario… if there’s a universe where they get those two guys and a pick, that would be a bounty considering the situation.
Only if we could then move Green for something valuable. Otherwise, it is the Beal situation all over again.

hopefully the best player coming back in any trade is not a shooting guard. We have enough salary dedicated to that position already.

Green has enough value we should be able to lasso a third team in and not need to build his value. What sort of value that is would be debatable but definitely more than Vassel who we'd be stuck with for months before we could flip him again.

There’s a rumor Udoka is the one pushing for KD while their GM is more conservative. Power struggles can lead to overpays. Minnesota has nothing I want unless it’s McDaniels who were not getting.

This does sound better on paper than the Spurs deal, particularly if there's also some draft picks attached.
