Detroit Lions Player Terrion Arnold Was Arrested, Charged With Terrifying Crimes

According to CBS Sports, Arnold turned himself in to the Tampa Police Department on June 24, 2026, in relation to a reported robbery that occurred in February of that year. A Tampa Government news release also confirmed the news, stating, “Arnold turned himself in and was taken into custody at Orient Road Jail in Hillsborough County on Wednesday night. He is facing 4 counts of kidnapping and 4 counts of armed robbery.”

Per the release, the TPD arrested six other suspects who were allegedly involved in a “targeted armed robbery” that left three adult males in their late teens with “visible injuries from being battered, held at gunpoint, and pistol-whipped before their personal property was stolen and … ordered to leave.”

The alleged robbery stemmed from an incident that allegedly occurred on February 1, where $250,000 worth of personal items were stolen from Arnold. Arnold reportedly ordered his friends to set up the adult victims he believed were involved days later.

“Around midnight on February 4, 2026, the victims drove to the apartment where [two of Arnold’s reported affiliates] hid inside a closet of one of the bedrooms. When the victims went in the bedroom, they said [the affiliates] grabbed them, held them at gunpoint and hit them,” the news release read.

Florida investigators said that the alleged beating was being “streamed” to Arnold as he was reportedly traveling to the location. “Investigators also found a group chat with all defendants was created, where Arnold and [his alleged affiliate] reportedly gave directions to [others] during the assault,” the release stated.

At the time of the alleged robbery and assault, Arnold reportedly ordered other people with him to enter the residence, and while inside, steal personal property of the three victims.

Arnold’s Representative Fires Back At The Claims Made Against Him

The Tampa Police Department found that the three teens who were allegedly beaten and robbed were not the individuals who stole from Arnold.

Arnold’s representative denied the claims in a statement to PEOPLE, stating that the athlete was not involved. “There is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations,” Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, said. “Instead, the government appears to be relying on testimony from multiple convicted felons who have admitted their own involvement and may have substantial incentives to shift blame in an effort to lessen their sentences.”

White went on to say that Arnold “looks forward to his day in court” to clear his name.

Detroit Lions Respond To The Accusations Against Their Player

The Detroit Lions and the NFL also responded to the claims, saying they were “aware of the legal situation” and wouldn’t comment further.

Arnold’s lawyer, meanwhile, echoed the football player’s rep, saying, “Mr. Arnold had no involvement whatsoever in the activities that led to those arrests.” They added, “He did not participate in, nor was he present for, any conduct related to the alleged offenses. There is no evidence in police reports, text messages, or witness statements that implicates Mr. Arnold in any way.”

In May 2026, police in Chile said that they had arrested three people allegedly involved in the robberies of Travis Kelce and other professional athletes. “The capture of these two individuals in Argentina” led to the arrest on Saturday of a third member of the gang,” Commissioner Enrique Gutiérrez of Chilean Interpol said, according to PEOPLE. “These individuals will face justice in the United States or Argentina.”

The arrest comes a year and a half after the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) warned high-profile athletes to be aware of theft rings targeting their homes “due to the perception they may have high-end goods like designer handbags, jewelry, watches, and cash.”
