Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold will remain in jail until at least Monday following his arrest on an array of felony charges that include kidnapping and armed robbery.
Hillsborough County Court judge J. Logan Murphy ruled Wednesday that Arnold will be held without bond until a pre-trial detention hearing in four days. Arnold’s attorney R. Timothy Jansen told the judge his client is “absolutely denying these allegations.”
Arnold, whom records show is currently being held at Falkenburg Road Jail, appeared in court virtually while wearing an anti-suicide smock. Prosecution has said it will request that he remain behind bars until the trial.
The full list of charges Arnold currently faces is three counts of armed robbery, three counts of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery, and one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping. The kidnapping charges alone carry a maximum penalty of life in prison.
Murphy said he denied Arnold bond because he was arrested for six “dangerous crimes.”
Tampa police have accused Arnold of being “the primary conspirator” among a group of six other defendants, two of whom were said during the hearing to have reached a plea deal with prosecution. Jansen requested a copy of those appeals from the judge and was denied.
Arnold is accused of orchestrating an abduction and interrogation of three men, identified as his personal driver and two of the driver’s associates, who were accused of stealing more than $250,000 in personal property belonging to the defendants from an Airbnb.

Police claim that members of Arnold’s group ambushed the alleged victims at an apartment and spent the better part of an hour beating them at gunpoint, with one of the defendants live-streaming the proceedings to Arnold while he was en route to the apartment. The alleged victims were eventually released in the dead of night, minus some personal property allegedly taken by the accused.
Investigators say they have found a group chat with all the defendants in which Arnold and his childhood friend Boakai Hilton Jr., who also faces kidnapping and armed robbery charges, were giving directions during the alleged assault.
Arnold’s involvement has been rumored since February, when Murphy alluded to him being involved and identified one of the defendants as Arnold’s girlfriend. Arnold’s lawyer denied any involvement at the time, claiming there were no police reports, text messages or witness statements that implicated him in any way.
It appears that has since changed.
The Lions have acknowledged the arrest and denied further comment:
The team has supported Arnold in the past, with head coach Dan Campbell saying in March, "It seems like he still wasn't involved with this."
It goes without saying that Arnold stands to miss some, if not all of, the 2026 season if prosecution’s request to detain him until trial is granted, but that is probably the least of his worries right now.
Arnold has played two seasons in the NFL since being selected in the first round, 24th overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Tallahassee native and Alabama product has recorded 91 total tackles, 18 passes defended and 1 interception in 24 career games, but missed the end of last season due to shoulder surgery.
