I’ve always liked Tyler Allgeier, but not as my starter. Not buying JC is still a starter. Our RB room is like our QB room, depth, but no starters.
I don't even mind him as the "starter" but his career high for receptions in a season is 18. It's a little unrealistic to think he is going to play 60% of snaps on a bad team that probably has to throw the football a lot.

"Pretty tough, pretty physical."

New #AZCardinals RB Tyler Allgeier when asked to describe his running style.

On what/where takes most pride? "Not getting tackled by one guy."

Looking around the web today and am hearing him described as a James Conner Lite. A little smaller build, lighter weight, similar toughness, and difficult to bring down easy. Not bad things to say about a guy. Edited to add: younger, too.

If James Conner couldn't catch a football.

Gotta say sleeping on this and i've been saying for months build the LOS one side or the other but unless there's an Edge we love at 3 I'd be awfully tempted to draft Love. This is such a weak draft that trading down with someone that wants him you're going to have to get a ton in return to be worth it so why not just pick him ourselves?

I know we won't that went out the window when we signed Allgier.

in a hotel last night I was watchign a bunch of youtube and came across a guy saying you realize how weak this draft is when you see Achane was the 84th pick, 3rd round in his draft and Love is going top 10 maybe top 5 in this draft. He said if you're going to compare Love to any player in the NFL it would be Achane. He ran a 4.36 at the combine, Achane 4.32. What makes Achane special is with all that speed he's an excellent inside runner and a great receiver, what makes Love unique is people think he's more durable he's 20 pounds heavier.

I guess the argument against it is Miami has had Achane for 3 years and has gotten worse every year but not his fault. I'm sure we'll pick an OT or an Edge but I gotta say it's getting more and more tempting to me to draft Love.

we had 10 different running backs run the ball in actual games last year - half you never heard of - started feeling bad for guys coming in at the end like damn - that poor bastard

Looks to me like Conner insurance. With Conner questionable Allgeier is the power back the Cards may lack. Despite all the criticism Benson has the most breakaway potential. I know as yet unrealized. I like the move from a balance POV. Allgeier also is excellent in pass protection with that position now available.
that was my thought. seems they decided to once again build the offense around the power ground game... but JC is 31, if he cant be the motor of the offense you need a guy that can... this kid can grind out yards and keep the chains moving...
I also dont think this move takes Love completely off the board...two different style backs...would make a great Thunder and Lightning duo,...especially since they are both effective in the passing game...defense wont know if the guy is going to run a route, run the ball, or stay in and block...thats a nice advantage to have.

Cards underground was talking like Conner is still the #1 back which seemed pretty questionable to me.
