I see the Cards going the three back committee system.I don't think I understand this. This guy is OK, but he's a number 2 / complimentary back. To me that is also what James Conner is.
We need a starter - but it seems like the plan is to go with a committee. I don't like that.
Trey Benson has been awful, I am pretty sure he will beat him out.Considering we could have drafted a Bijan Robinson at 3, why not just do that instead of wasting money on a guy who probably won't beat out Trey Benson.
And yet here we are. They had a roughly equivalent snap share. Not true. Demaercado's role only elevated because of injuries. If Conner and Benson stayed healthy, we wouldn't see him in the backfield.
Trey Benson has been hurt. He's younger, faster, and has averaged significantly more YPC(4.9 to 4.3)than Allgeier.Trey Benson has been awful, I am pretty sure he will beat him out.
Welcome aboard. Don't let the inmates here scare you off!Just moved to the valley late last summer from GA. I've been a Falcon fan all my life and will always be a fan. That being said, I am really wanting to support the Cardinals now that I'm here. I'm a huge fan of this signing. This guy is tough and team player. No distractions will come with this guy. He wasn't fully used in Atlanta obviously because of Bijan Robinson, but this dude is a legit bruiser. This is a great signing.
You’re so gross lolWelcome aboard. Don't let the inmates here scare you off!
Newbies buy - I'll take a PB&J Burger from AZ Wilderness and a Scottsdale Blonde.
I haven't seen anything from Trey Benson that gets me excited.Trey Benson has been hurt. He's younger, faster, and has averaged significantly more YPC(4.9 to 4.3)than Allgeier.
Probably right. You guys need to even stop speculating on the draft - we are drafting an OT. The only question is whether we trade back or not.
Have you from Allgeier? I haven't.I haven't seen anything from Trey Benson that gets me excited.
Benson is 2 years younger than Allgeier and even going back to college he has never gotten more than 156 carries in a season. Through Benson's first 17 NFL games he has averaged 5.5 carries per game.Trey Benson has been hurt. He's younger, faster, and has averaged significantly more YPC(4.9 to 4.3)than Allgeier.
I think this is an appropriate signing if you aren't going to spend high on a RB. He fits the system and in fact helped Bijan learn the stretch zone scheme. A solid role player for a RB rotation. Decent price. Kinda Kenyon Drake esque.I do recall reading @Chopper0080 saying he wouldn’t mind us signing this guy…..
I'm not saying Benson's the guy. But neither is Allgeier.Benson is 2 years younger than Allgeier and even going back to college he has never gotten more than 156 carries in a season. Through Benson's first 17 NFL games he has averaged 5.5 carries per game.
He's going to be a change of pace guy.
Allgeier is healthy, Benson and Conner have not been. Allgeier is good enough to contribute in multiple roles, but isn't a super talent. Benson hasn't beaten any player for a role in his career so if he does beat out Allgeier, it will be his first and we should be happy.Trey Benson has been hurt. Allgeier can 100% run the stretch zone scheme. You know this. They spend 6 mil to bring in a RB who can run the scheme and hopefully maintain his track record of health. It's not a needle mover, but it is an ok FA signing.I'm not saying Benson's the guy. But neither is Allgeier.
Benson has more of a ceiling unless his knees are shot.
There's not person in the NFL that's even worried about Allgeier being a Cardinal.
Allgier will likely beat out Benson imoConsidering we could have drafted a Bijan Robinson at 3, why not just do that instead of wasting money on a guy who probably won't beat out Trey Benson.
The thread title is literallyThe main point is being missed. It's not Allgeier/Benson conversation, it's that the Cards are now 99% not taking the best player in the draft and potential game breaking HR threat to instead go with a RB room of Allgeier/Benson/Connor and that's just sickening. Pathetic.
