Exactly, I'm having one right now!

By the way, I tried to make an apple-pecan old fashioned with Rivulet and it sucked. Any suggestions?
I don't unfortunately. I saw a video of a guy who soaked bourbon in Cinnamon toast crunch overnight. Then he made CTC old fashioned the next day. Raved about how good it was. I unfortunately tried it and it was awful. lol Should have known better. Maybe @jf-08 hes a mixologist

Nothing better than blackberry anything. I didn't know Dr. Pepper had a Blackberry zero sugar soda.

I really liked the honey whiskey at the cigar lounge I was at Saturday night. It really complimented the cigar. Pretty sure it was jack Daniel’s but it was delicious.

My new drink that I've been enjoying this year - carajillos

Equal parts:

Licor 43
Espresso
Repasado tequila (I prefer Cazcanes No 7)

Squeeze an orange slice into the mix. Shake over ice and strain.

Garnish with a bit of an orange peel.

Holy hell. It is so good.

I'm a scotch snob. But due to UK tariffs added about 15 years ago I cannot afford the stuff I like.

But for health reasons I have no way to relieve stress.
I really needed a drink last week... so I shopped around and settled on a 12 year Dalmore aged in Sherry.

I should have saved 60 bucks and just bought Jack Daniel's instead.
It was harsh, tasted like fusal alcohols, and burned...tasted like it came out of the still yesterday...and you couldn't even taste the Sherry at all.
No undertones..no finish..just nasty.
Now I'm stuck with 740ml of rancid paint thinner on the shelf and I'm out 98 bucks.

Thinking about switching to Tequila...have a better shot at being able to afford the good stuff.

Damn.

My son is the whiskey snob. I like tequila. Most tequila is double distilled. I think that seems to make it better on the bottom end of the scale than whiskey when it's cheap. I have a whiskey that is just like you said. I am letting it age. Hopefully that helps? :shrug:

I stuck the bottle back in its box and it is on top of a cabinet. I haven't moved it in a couple years. Maybe more.
Oh well, just FYI alcohol cannot age in a glass bottle at least not bourbons or tequilas, etc.… I know they say wines can change their flavor profile but alcohol generally needs some sort of oak charred oak Cherrywood, or something dropped into it or re-barreled. They make smaller barrels that you can pour your alcohols into to age them affordable to.

The booze I have is charred too much! It has a real harsh burnt taste. I don't imagine there's a way to alter that short of blending it with a real mild whiskey?

It's a Chivas Regal 13, Manchester United version. It's so peppery burnt tasting, my kid who is a whiskey drinker doesn't even like it. I am keeping it for shots when Man U accomplishes something good. Lately they have been horrid. So that's why the bottle is "aging." If I had some Suns bottles, just think where I'd be now.

Rocking some EH Taylor Barrel Proof tonight. Really good and really strong. has anyone tried any of the new Four Roses releases? They are really good and not too expensive.

IMHO, Four Roses Small Batch is kind of harsh but Small Batch Select is much better. On the other hand, I've been pairing Small Batch with Royale Orange and that's really good (add a little simple sugar).

Kind of reminds me of something I had in a Cleveland restaurant last week, which they called a Black Forest Manhattan. Bulleit, creme de cassis, creme de cacao, chocolate bitters. Really good. I have to see if I can duplicate it.
