With more than twice the population of Scottsdale, you just know there have to be some good places to eat. ;)

Real talk the only reason there is more population in Mesa is because Scottsdale is landlocked and can't expand...especially with the height limit. Mesa just adopts its cities by direction. The farther east you go it becomes AJ, north it becomes Gilbert / Chandler, East it's east Tempe. Central? Its the hood like South Phoenix.

There is no hood in Scottsdale. Mesa is the Glendale of the East.

People aren't rolling into the apartments and trailer parks of Mesa looking for $5 of property crime

@Shane you understand that the average home value on McDowell is over 550k and Indian Bend it's over 750k

Your AI post is hilarious. The worst of Scottsdale is the best of Mesa

You can throw some shade around McDowell (because it's close to Tempe) but Indian Bend is 4-6 miles north and in the heart of the nicest part of the city

Crime is everywhere my friend. It's not confined by boundaries.

Scottsdale is in the top 16% of violent crime in the nation. Most of our ctime is theft.

The nature anf frequency of crime is absolutely zip coded,

I spent most of my younger years when in Phoenix at the one that was in Chandler on Alma School, as well as the one on Southern and McClintock, right around the corner from where I lived. Both are gone. That same shopping center had an old Video Game Rental Store called Gamers back in the day. Spent a lot of time at that store when I was teenager.

I think the one you are referring to is actually in Mesa, by about half a city block. It's located on Alma School just south of Guadalupe Rd. You have to go down a bit further and cross the canal to be in Chandler.

Here is what their bio in the New Times back in 2016 when the original location was sold off to Heppy Joe's Pizza:

At one point, Nello’s boasted four Valley locations including restaurants in Tempe, Ahwatukee, Mesa, and Scottsdale. Both the Tempe and Scottsdale locations have now shuttered, leaving just two restaurants in Mesa and Ahwatukee. The restaurant was originally founded by four brothers, each of whom would go on to operate a different Nello’s location.

We have lived next to the Mesa one since 1999 and been there once. We could walk to this location. Maybe we'll have to give them another shot. We originally went there just because a friend of my wife's was working there. It's so close to home though I believe we would just get something to go and eat it at home.
I was also pretty sure it was called Nello's at Southern and McClintock like Chap said. Maybe it was the same name owned by different people. I went there quite a bit. Also to Gamers. I used to rent Neo Geo consoles from there.

That same corner has the best ramen in the valley called Tampopo. I truly miss that place...

Oh yeah - the Tempe one was definitely at Southern and McClintock. There was no Chandler location as it is still on Alma School in Mesa.

Mesa and Ahwatukee still each have a Nello’s.

Ridiculous. Why are you so upset about the Chandler vs Mesa thing?
