Don’t know where you went or if it French style or actual French food.

I love Michelin restaurants and been to many, but I wouldn’t say it’s necessarily representative of French food. Too fancy smancy

For actual French food I would go to a high-end French Bistro serving all the non-fancy classics. Caussulet, croque Madame, Bourgognon, steak bearnaise etc.

I've been a little cold and would demolish a well made beef bourguignon - that aligns with popular American dishes like pot roast or simple beef stew - so many good soups and stews and a hefty influence on a broad range of cuisine

Had a fantastic ratatouille at a market in Budapest - just good stuff

All things you mentioned are fantastic

Not to mention pastries

Lived 60% of my life in probably the only country where pastries are on par with or better than the French, so while it’s good it’s not that special for me
I love a good Danish !

I don't like the taste of wine, like at all. So even when you cook with it, in almost ruins the taste for me. I have had steak bearnaise a couple of times, and again not for me.

Of those that you listed, the only one that feels up my alley is the Caussulet.

I'm not a pastry guy myself, but I do truly appreciate how well the French do pastry.

I’m appalled by you not liking Bearnaise :D

But fair enough. Different taste buds

The Scottsdale one has been gone for a few years now unless it moved and is hiding. I used to go to the gym next to it that's also gone now.

When I ate pizza, I always liked the Famous Ray's Pizza up at FLW and the 101.

I know your post is over two years old, but hell yeah to Ray's!

My favorites are Grimaldi’s, Upper Crust, and Bianco.. I’m also a huge sucker for Peter Piper Pizza because that’s what I grew up on, but I know they ain’t gourmet!
Peter piper Chicago with extra spice is pretty good for Chuck E Cheese style establishment
