Venezia's in Tempe deserved credit for keeping Breaking Bad lore alive. Ordered from them today. Better than any other chain in the valley, IMO.

This was the inside of the box.

I haven't lived in the valley for a minute.
But I really liked Sardellas... pizza was pretty good...wings were amazing...
They had a weekday special...large 2 topping with 4 or 5 dozen wings...used to be my go to order....eat the wings the first night then pizza for the next couple nights

I like Venezia's. They don't have a location anywhere near me though.

Portnoy was right. Trevors Pizza is fantastic
The one near me on Scottsdale / Mayo has a pretty nice restaurant. I've never eaten inside but have had takeout pizza from there a couple times. It's my favorite. Crazy good. My wife likes NY style better though - Brooklyn Vs.

The one in Tempe, on College Ave, is right at 4 miles from you guys. And they deliver.

I guess Nello’s is no longer one of the best? I remember loving that place in the 90s, but went to the Ahwatukee one last summer and it just didn’t seem the same.

One of my favorite local pizza joints around here is Ricos... awesome stoner pizza as back in the day they featured a 36" party pizza... 18 inch slices!!
But a few years back they reduced the party pizza to only 26 inches... still $60 though for a combination.

It's a sketchy looking straight ghetto pizza joint...but if your ever passing through you should stop and try it out

Nello's was great in the 90s, very early 2000s, for the Ahwatukee and Scottsdale (Shea & 101) locations. Then the Scottsdale one fell off a cliff in the mid-aughts. I was living up there and not sure if Ahwatukee when downhill at the same time. A couple years after the quality started dropping they closed the location.

I live down the street from the Ahwatukee Nello's, and they still have great pizza. I can't compare it to other pizzas places I have not been to, but I like it.

I spent most of my younger years when in Phoenix at the one that was in Chandler on Alma School, as well as the one on Southern and McClintock, right around the corner from where I lived. Both are gone. That same shopping center had an old Video Game Rental Store called Gamers back in the day. Spent a lot of time at that store when I was teenager.

I think the one you are referring to is actually in Mesa, by about half a city block. It's located on Alma School just south of Guadalupe Rd. You have to go down a bit further and cross the canal to be in Chandler.

Here is what their bio in the New Times back in 2016 when the original location was sold off to Heppy Joe's Pizza:

At one point, Nello’s boasted four Valley locations including restaurants in Tempe, Ahwatukee, Mesa, and Scottsdale. Both the Tempe and Scottsdale locations have now shuttered, leaving just two restaurants in Mesa and Ahwatukee. The restaurant was originally founded by four brothers, each of whom would go on to operate a different Nello’s location.

We have lived next to the Mesa one since 1999 and been there once. We could walk to this location. Maybe we'll have to give them another shot. We originally went there just because a friend of my wife's was working there. It's so close to home though I believe we would just get something to go and eat it at home.

The best food in Mesa is at the Whataburger or Los Dos Molinos. I guess there is some organ stop pizza hut stuff.
We went to Guadalupe on Main last weekend in downtown Mesa. It was really good. And Blue Adobe Grille on Country Club in downtown Mesa is amazing.
