Defense was the name of the game for the New England Patriots in Sunday's 16-3 playoff win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The pressure from the defensive front was palpable on a night when the Patriots registered six sacks on Chargers quarterback Justin Hebert. They held the Chargers' offense as a whole to only 207 total yards. It was complete dominance from start to finish.
The defensive backfield also contributed with the secondary shutting down a solid Chargers receiving corps with multiple standout players, like Keenan Allen, Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston.
Justin Herbert went 19-of-31 passing through the air against the stingy Patriots defense. He was also the Chargers' leading rusher with 10 carries for 57 yards. Perhaps the scariest statistic is the fact that the Chargers were 1-for-10 on third downs against the Patriots' defense.
Here are the best and worst graded defensive players for the Patriots in Sunday's wild-card playoff game, according to Pro Football Focus.
