I think it's become apparent that he's going to start next week. He ran with ferocity, intensity, was breaking tackles, and making big plays.

The biggest indicator is he got 14 carries to Hightower's 4 and he was used as a receiver.

I think he's going to get the starting job and hold it. The Panthers rank 28th against the rush so start Beanie on your fantasy rosters.

Beanie ran GREAT today. He laid out some mean stiff arms and he earned a start. My big concern is the fumblitis, but even Shaun Alexander (I think) had like 7 or 8 fumbles as a rookie. Beanie will cost us this year on a crucial fumble, but we gotta give that guy some burn....

Who had more fumbles tonight, Timmy or Beanie?

If he can just put it all together, he is line for a breakout game. I feel it. Seeing him run in the open is a thing of beauty.

Even after only 6 games I think it's safe to say Beanie is the best RB we've had in the past decade. There is absolutely no reason he shouldn't be starting and getting the bulk of the carries from here on out.

Like the announcers said, the Cardinal RB's need to go to the Tiki School of Stop-Dropping-the-Ball. It's very concerning.

someone needs to GIF that stiffarm on the score.

That was obviously Beanie's best stiff arm in the NFL. If you like stiff arms (my favorite move) you will LOVE Beanie. It's the NFL's version of getting posterized on a dunk. We haven't seen nothing yet.

Timmy has horrible footwork. He has a lot of heart, but just doesn't quite have enough footwork to go with his little frame.

Now that Hightower is also having problems holding onto the ball this is an easy decision.

Beanie starts and TH is the third down back. My take is Beanie will get stronger with more carries.

Continue to work with both on the fumbling issue.

I actually like the tandem of Wells and Hightower. At this point Hightower is the better blocker and receiver while Wells is the better pure runner. But both need to do a better job on hanging onto the ball.

Does any team use all of it's RBs more than the Cardinals do? Last night, Wells, Hightower and Wright all score TDs. And, LSH regularly gets snaps as well.

BTW, I'd rather see Wright used more on 3rd down than LSH. I just think Wright is a better pass receiver at this time.

Beanie even ran backwards as well as he ran forward last night.

Yeah I'm not really comfortable with hyphen in the offense right now. So far his plays never work, he gets caught in the backfield and goes down on first contact too easily. Wright seems to have no burst but he appears to be a tougher runner after the catch. Now if he can just catch fumbles that bounce right to him.

But I agree, just like last year we're using all our RB's.

not really and I pray we never see that again. Barry Sanders he isn't. He dies not have the right skill set to try that.

I'll disagree. Of course he isn't Sanders... there will never be another. I'd rather him try than to fall down and allow himself to get tackled. (JJ)

Then your asking for trouble and big losses most of the time in that situation. I don't think he should just fall by any means. But he should lower his shoulder and barrel forward as far as he can go. His skill set is better designed for that. Had he done that initially we prob would have lost 2-3 yards and not 6.

You should never go backward 15 yards to try and escape. Very few people in the history of this league have had the skills to make that work. The only one I can truly think of was Barry.

That was Terry Metcalf too, he'd run 10 yards back and wind up making yardage. Of course he lost yardage too, Sanders did as well he regularly led the NFL in runs for negative yards, just the ones for positive were so huge you figured it was worth it.

In fairness to Beanie the tackler sort of spun him backwards, he didn't voluntarily go backwards at first. But yeah he should have plowed forward and took the short loss.

Maybe the coaches realize now you have to have Beanie as your starter. Tim isn't just going to get it done. As I have been posting all season, we should use Tim as our 3rd down back for catches out of the backfield (a la Larry Centers) and for short yardage runs.

I think Beanie has not seen his last fumble but if your ever going to build the kids confidence, they have to let him play through it versus benching him.

Beanie is still learning the offense. He will continue to split carries with Hightower until he becomes more comfortable with the passing game. It's a steep learning curve coming from OSU to the NFL.

Eh, I don't want to see it again either, but I'm not upset that he did it. He didn't give up on the play, and he was spun backward by the defender. He used instinct to get as much as he could. It was a broken play, and he tried to do something with it.

I definitely do NOT want to see it become a habit...he's a hit the hole, cut and run, then lower the shoulder and move the pile or shove a guy in the face kind of back...not a nifty, shifty lose five and gain 20 kind of back.
