I thought of this idea earlier today when I saw Biz Markie's "Just A Friend" video... What's your favorite music video of all time?

I would rank "Just A Friend" along with Gomez's "Bring It On" and DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince's "Parents Just Don't Understand" within my top-10 all-time favorites.... What are yours?

Pearl Jam - Jeremy (unedited)
Aerosmith - Janie's Got a Gun
Enigma - Principles of Lust (yummy)
Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
A-Ha - Take On Me ( :p )

Pantera - "5 Minutes Alone"

They coated Vinnie Paul's china cymbal with gasoline and lit one of his drumsticks on fire. Then everytime he hit the cymbal it would have this quick bursting ring of fire. Badassed.

Dream Theater - "Take the Time"

During the guitar/keyboard duet the screen goes splitscreen with John Petrucci (guitar) on one side and Kevin Moore (keyboard) on the other.

Megadeth - "Sweating Bullets"

Very creative video and fairly high-budget for a metal band. Lots of overlayed shots and the multiple Mustaines on the screen at the end is a little weird and downright spooky. Their video for "Train of Consequences" was pretty badass too.

Tool - "Sober"

Need I say more? This video was incredible and way ahead of its time.

Metallica - "One"

It was always funny to see the MTV VeeJay's reaction after this video was played. They'd usually be silent for a few seconds, then say, "well, on a happier note..." :)

That was maybe the best dark and moody video of all time. The scenes from "Johnny get your gun" thrown in really hit hard with the music.

Journey - "Seperate Ways"

Quite possibly one of the most unintentionally funny things of all time.

That is a direct link that contains Gomez's "Bring It On" video (it was actually released on their 2nd album "Liquid Skin", which is not to be confused with how they titled their 1st album "Bring It On") along with a few other earlier videos by them.... Their videos are worth checking-out since theyre either hilarious or just dramatic in some regards.....

Had to bump this thread up to respond to this....

Oh....I thought that video was hysterical as well... I believe I was about 7 when that video first aired on MTV (I started getting into Journey's music when 1981's "Escape" album first came out), and I never saw them on TV until that...

Anyways, I immedately nicknamed them the "Armpit Brothers" because all they did in that video was constantly raise their arms (especially when they did that lame air-guitar or keyboard)..... Too bad MTV destroyed Journey though because Neil Schon was one highly underappreciated guitarist and John Cain was a solid keyboardist in his own right......

I would have to add the videos to Dire Straits "Money For Nothing", Genesis "Land of Confusion", Alice-In-Chains "I Stay Away", and NIN "Down In It".. All I'll mention for now.....

The single greatest music video ever is/was "California Girls" by David Lee Roth. It's a classic song, full of hot chicks, and Dave makes you laugh like only Dave can. It's an all-timer.

Also, his video to "Just A Gigalo" was an instant classic back then since it satirized so many in the music industry very cleverly....

More I thought of....

"Once In A Lifetime" - Talking Heads
"Girls on Film (the extended version) - Duran Duran
"Mr. Roboto" - Styx
"Fight for Your Right" - Beastie Boys
"Jeopardy" - Greg Kihn

Also, shouldnt forget any of Weird Al videos! :)

Wow, that video is hysterical!

Here's a link to a very imaginative video by a newer band called LCD Soundsystem titled "Daft Punk Is Playing In My House".... Just solid effects.....

I plan on posting a separated thread about them soon since their music is superb.....

Gotta be that Janet Jackson song (I don't even know which one it is) where Antonio Sabato, Jr. is half dressed with her on the beach. My Lord what I wouldn't give to be Janet on THAT day. Hubba, hubba.
