Speaking of which. This is a very good read; everybody should check it out.

"The Eagles ran eight deep with every style of pass-rusher, inside and on the edge. Gannon cycled through edge pairings. "

this explains best the draft strategy as well --

That's one of the main things I really like about MO/JG -

I think they have a very coherent long term plan, designed to achieve sustainable success. And they are going to pursue it relentlessly.

Will it work? This year will say a lot, but at least we can feel like a sober person is steering the ship.

I'm hopeful because at times the defense wasn't atrocious when you consider the death of talent on the front seven.

Now that they can really rotate players, I'm hopeful that the defense can actually strike fear in opposing teams.

My thoughts exactly.

It hasn’t been perfect. Deciding to just tank when Kyler was out could have been handled differently in year 1, but there is a clear plan and the entire organization is executing towards the plan.

Arizona Cardinals: 8.5

Prediction: Over

The Cardinals made strides in coach Jonathan Gannon’s second season, going from four wins to eight. Expect this team to continue trending in the right direction after an influx of talent on the defensive side, including the splash signing of Josh Sweat and draft selections of Walter Nolen and Will Johnson. But the Cardinals are going to need a bounce-back season from Kyler Murray, who appeared uncomfortable when favoring a patient pocket approach rather than leaning on his athleticism to create plays.

It seems like the prediction sites have all been praising the defensive additions and questioning KM

Same things we are seeing

The key for our success is KM

Hoping he can figure it out for an entire season

We need all 22 to play well BCF, and I hesitate to say K1 is the key, as if last season was lost solely because of him. I don't think that's 100% fair.

But, if you say we need K1 to be better than last year, then I'll absolutely go along with that.

The "winning meaningful games" issue is now a raging 800 pound monkey on his back.

There’s a lot of truth to the KM thought. Still I think this defense is good enough to win if he just avoids turnovers. This 2 star opponent receiver team is certainly a tough matchup. Much will depend on how the CB unit progresses.

He brings nothing to the table anymore
I lost all respect for him when I was in the Super Bowl media center about 1 week after Whisenhunt was hired.

Whisenhunt agreed to an informal interview session on the floor. So the first possible opportunity to get Whisenhunt informal and off the record. About 1 min in Bickley said “Oh. Cold Stone icecream” and he walked off
