Agree. D linemen traditionally show a small jump in year two followed by gradual progression....unless we have a budding Hall of Fame player on our hands.

It’s unclear to me why Gannon is electing to do 6 OTA sessions instead of 10. I know he said he is trying to balance the health side of things. But is no contact technique focused drills- especially with your rookie/young players really going to take that much juice out of them for the regular season? What about getting a defense that will likely be 2/3rds new faces building some chemistry/learning the defensive language Buddha talked about. I’d argue- this time is extremely valuable time- especially for the rookies/players on their rookie contracts.

I’ve always heard that mid season is not the time to be focusing on technique etc because there is so much focus on film time, scheme practice, etc

I look no further than the draft and FA acquisitions for this year.

I‘m not sold on him nor am I counting on his contributions this year.

eh,...we need 8 guys for the rotation... Dante Stills was the only certain guy last season,...with DRob being a hopefull who we didnt really get to see any of due to injury.
I am fairly certain we would have drafted defensive line even if DRob had lit the world on fire and won DROY
all you have to do is look at the defensive front JG helped build in Philly to see that the past couple seasons had us woefully short on talent up front.
same with the signings..we needed an upgrade in the middle, Tomlinson provides a huge upgrade...and CC is not only an upgrade but a ticket sales addition since he has always been a fan favorite.
Justin Jones and Belial Nichols,...while being okay players, are best suited as the third guys in rotation for their respective positions

I agree but I get why the player would say he is looking to make a huge jump. He wants to be significantly more productive. That is a good mindset for a young player to have. Ultimately, we will see if he actually can produce.

I don't know how to unsubscribe from the offseason hype cycle, but I'm gonna do by best. The Xavier Thomas train last season was ridonkulous.
