What's San Antonio going to do with Fox, Castle, and Harper in the backcourt? I guess you can throw Vassell in there assuming they don't land Durant.

Shams Charania is reporting the Buss family is entering an agreement to sell majority ownership of the Lakers.

They were always a cash poor team, or labeled that at least, from what I remember. Be interesting to see what happens under new ownership.

Wow! That came out of nowhere. That one poster is REALLY going to be beside himself. Probably won’t sleep well for a few days.

making the lakers 60% more valuable than the suns are - or were - before ish bought them for $4 billion - we're probably worth $3 billion now
Do we have a BIM alert for bad math? My math skills are quite rusty but I'm pretty sure 10 billion is 2.5 times 4 billion rather than 60% greater. Being worth 60% more than the Suns 4 billion purchase price would mean a Lakers sale of 6.4 billion.

Ime Udoka agrees to a long-term contract extension with the Rockets. This might get some trades moving.

If it was in the USA, guaranteed it would be a day or two just waiting on insurance to approve it.

Don't want to start a thread for it so putting it here. Anybody else want the NBA to cut back the season to like 60 games? Assuming Haliburton has a torn achilles that's 2, him and Tatum in the playoffs. I'm of the opinion we're seeing overuse, same reason ACL's are so common now. These guys play so much in AAU as kids and then after college they're playing 82 games plus the playoffs and then you have international. I think we're just seeing guys wearing out.

Most of us seem to hate load management but all that is really is coaches saying 82 games is too much, so I'm trying to keep my guys healthy,.

After reading your post I went to look at how many games in the old days. Looks like it was 80 games up until the sixties. It's only expanded two games in all that time. IDK what is happening. The sixties and seventies they used to dunk and play more physical and guys made it through the season. I know Red Auerbach used to rest his veterans in some of his practices to save wear and tear on them. People are getting bigger, and maybe that's putting more pressure on joints and tendons that can't keep pace to larger skeletons and more muscle?

Cutting AAU makes way more sense than the NBA season.

Guys back then hadn't played anywhere near as much ball coming up in AAU settings. I don't think people realize how many games these guys play as teenagers, they often play 10 games on Fri-Sun in AAU, not 48 minute games but it's why we're seeing torn ACLs in middle school now.

The other thing is as someone on a UCLA site pointed out, the way the game has changed because of Steph to where the deep 3 pointers are so common, defenses have to extend out another 4-5 feet. Pre 3 point shot they didn't have to, so they still run up and down the same court but when they're doing hard closeouts they're closing another 4-5 feet every time.
