Is it possible that Lawlar could now be a premium trade piece for a top line pitcher?
Suarez has one year plus a club option on 2025. They likely feel that Lawler is not ready for the full-time job.
I imagine if they did not get to playoffs at all this year they would not have made this trade and let Lawler come up right now there’s no reason to waste a roster spot until someone proves they belong

I would say Tommy Troy would be more likely between the two. Suarez is basically a one year rental if he duplicates the past season so Lawlar could be a full time guy by 2025. A package of Troy, Min-Lin and another top-10 piece could get a TOTR starter.

I like the idea of signing Miley/Lugo and working the young guys in here and there. If they trade for someone I hope it’s a guy that’s controlled for more than two years and is left handed.
