I know its a little early to start a new season thread but should we get an offseason thread going now? The draft is days away and deals are being made. The offseason is here but I can't remember how the last season thread went when the schedule wasn't all messed up because of the pandemic.

I put up a thread for 2021 NBA free agency and trades heading into the draft. When 2022 rolls around new threads are usually put up as events come around.

Mike D'Antoni is stepping away from a full time coaching role with Steve Nash and the Nets.

He will likely continue to seek a head coaching position.

Seeing how Monty coaches defense? I don't miss Pringles at all. Although Monty shows shades of D'Anotoni's adjustment syndrome, Monty has shown defense can be a priority while still putting up exciting offense. Something D'Antoni never learned. Mike will never win a title the way he coaches. Not unless he gets some major defensive minded assistants around him.

I cant wait for westbrook on the lakers, the lack of finishing dunks, the lack of passing to leFlop and AD will be entertaining for sure. He's not nearly as explosive as he used to be, that team is physically older. But he's still one of the guys i like in the nba just because he never seems to give up, most times.

If 3 Lakers are included that is a win for the Kings. Trez can replace Holmes, shooting can be made up by KCP, and Kuzma could be a backup and an expiring. Kings could upgrade their roster. If they could land THT instead of KCP then that would be a victory for the Kings.

Harrell is worth more than a player option of $9,720,900 for one season.

You're right. Did he opt in? If not then I don't believe the Lakers can use him in a trade.

I haven't heard of Harrell opting in. He is a player I would be interested in the Suns signing. The Lakers totally didn't take advantage of his talent.
