We may be asking the wrong question: The NFL is a business. Does the NFL really want the Cardinals to lose and possibly end up drafting a QB that would increase viewership in a bigger market? NO! This is why the cardinals will do so much better this year than projected. The fan base will be elated and hope will be restored...and then in 2027 we all come back to earth. Cardinal fans are riding a perpetual teeter totter.
Good comment/username synergy here.

This running game and play calling will make this offense better.
An improved offense will help keep the defense on the sidelines.
Hopefully we can go back to 2024 special teams.

I see improvement but the schedule is brutal. We can be better and it may not show up on the win/loss column.

6-8 wins would be over achieving.

Best result, if everything goes right?

Probably 9 wins. There is a world where the Cardinals can beat the Chargers, Giants, Lions, Broncos, Cowboys, Commanders, Jets, Saints and Raiders.

I am not saying it is likely, but it also doesn't require the Cardinals to win a division game.
I don’t think there’s any world where the Cardinals can beat the Broncos or Lions.

The NFL is rigging games for the Cards to WIN in order to avoid them drafting a franchise altering player...

That is quite the theory.

Unfortunately the top of the NFL draft is perpetually inhabited by terrible teams that make bad picks.

So no... I don't think the NFL needs to take measures to assist the Cardinals from being inept.

I really don't buy the "league rigs it for the big market" stuff in the NFL. They unequivocally do not. The Jets, Bears, Cowboys and Dolphins have not accomplished crap in 30 years. Atlanta has never won anything. The freaking shitsburg Steelers are constantly in the mix, the current "dynasty" is in frigging Kansas City, the Packers, a club owned by a city the size of Yuma, is one of the most storied franchises.

No... that is complete rubbish.

There is a lot of stuff I dislike about the NFL, but it is probably the most merit based league in the US... by miles and miles.

You can run on the Broncos light defense and maybe Sean Payton goes full galaxy brain.

I think the Lions are still in flux on defense. It would need to be a shoot out.

I agree that it is a stretch but I was trying to be about as positive as I could be.

Lost two of their highest snap count DL. One of those was a key interior rusher. EDGE only has one pass rusher. ILB is still weak. CB is a ? of mid and unproven. Completely unproven players to fill in for Jalen Thompson who played several roles. Same coordinator.

The Broncos were 10-2 in games decided by a TD or less last year. They had a 11.2 expected wins based on points scored and allowed. They are a prime regression candidate this season, especially if their defense regresses from elite to really good.

This isn’t to say we got em where we want em, but the Jets, Giants, and Raiders all hung tough with Denver last season and they had a little Nixcraft on their side to come out with the “W.”

SFS will be 60% Broncos fans that day tho

In the great scheme of life, you're right. But if you think about it, there are penalties on pretty much every play but not called. Think back to last year and whenever the cardinals had a big play...Holding! I'm just saying I think this upcoming season we're going to get a gratuitous PI call at the right time to maybe help us win a game. Here's my first prediction. The very first game against the chargers, non-conference game and the narrative will be the cards were better because of the extra week of practice we got and the extra preseason game, so we were better prepared. Nobody will think twice about it. ;)

Because we have less talent and also the same coaching staff? This one isn’t that complicated.

I do not agree that we were Sean Murphy-Bunting and Starling Thomas V away from being really good.
So the same coaches make it worse and players coming back from injury doesn't help because they suck ?

This is in your opinion so obvious we should see it easily?

You may be right but this is hardly a factual statement

Who is coming back from injury?

Ojulari - has been a nothing.
LJ Collier - fringe roster player
Nolen - played 7 games for (edit) one of the leagues worst defenses.
Starling Thomas V - Monti has used two 2nd round picks, a 3rd, and a 4th on CBs since STV has been on the roster.
SMB - See Starling Thomas
Mack Wilson - Journeyman ILB. Defense did dip when he was out. Unclear if he can overcome the other deficiencies.

The argument is the bets players are the ones who left, CC, Tomlinson, and Thompson, and Monti did very little to add players who were better than them. The players who are coming back from injury were mostly players who were mid and Monti was hoping to replace with his draft picks.

I don't think this is a stretch argument.

What is the best result the Cards can hope to achieve? Even if MLF proves highly creative and Brissett plays his best how many wins are possible? With 4 more points in each game the Cards would have started 7-0 last season. Is this year’s team better or worse than last season’s? Murray only played the first 5 games. Is this team underrated? Injuries devastated the defense after the bye. Is this year’s defense competitive? Looking for explained opinions! Join in.
Theoretically - and this is if everything goes right 7-10 or 8-9 is my opinion. Really doubt everything goes right, and pretty much it never does.

This team could be better than last year's, but this year's schedule is much harder in my opinion.
