All this attention for an average college QB is totally sus.

I truly believe there are agents of the QBs next year planting stories about this dude to keep their clients away from the Cards next draft.

Huh? The agent gets paid no matter where the quarterbacks go next year …..and the pay is already set with the draft slot…

At the end of the day, QB is the hardest position to find that guy. There are maybe 8 every ten year who are it. Using all of these silly metrics at the end of day mean nothing. There are always expectations and the expectations have had more success than the norm. I have said it several time and will say it again, if ML thinks Simpson is his guy, then I am all in.

Yea why not. If you told someone a 7th round Brock Purdy would get a 200mill contract and make super bowl, they would say never in life. It's not impossible for Ty Simpson to be starting qb.
Especially if we plug that o line on the right side….with our weapons….with this coach who is supposed to be good? Why not give him some tools to succeed.? Trade down get him fano or Frances at 12 and draft this cerebral assassin at 20 and let ticket sales take off

Yeah, all these people handwringing that the guy is 24 years old is just dumb….

He’s marginally older than the 23-year-old Joe Burrow when he was drafted or the 23-year-old Brock Purdy, or the 23-year-old Dak Prescott…. To say he can’t be developed or have improvement because he’s 24 is simply asinine.

Kurt Warner was 27 when he took his first NFL snap and 28 when he made his first start. See, I can play this dumb game too!
That’s about when Simpson should also get his first start based on his limited college skillset.

I get why you think MLF’s opinion is of higher quality than ours, but why would you accept MLF’s opinion over most of the NFL cognoscenti or whatever?

What has MLF done to earn your trust and faith?

Joe Burrow just came off one of the best seasons in College Football History. 23 year-old Brock Purdy was the last player selected in the draft. Dak was selected in the 2nd round. It's not about the idea that he's just 24.- it's that it's an important piece of the puzzle to consider when evaluating taking a player as high as we're talking about.

There are people on this board, literally trashing him just because of his age. We even had one comment today that said he’s done. He’s reached his peak. Which is conjecture at best.

just saying, throwing out those guys as comps completely ignores the context of who they are and where they were drafted/value at the time of the draft, which is what we're discussing right now.

Why trade back in to round 1?
If he shows he's the guy, the last year doesn't matter, extend him.

If he stinks, who cares?

Because one of our rivals for “dumbest franchise”, like the Jets, might beat us to the punch!

That is a very fair question and i appreciate you asking. It is because I am the eternal optimist. Trust is lost with me, not earned. JG had it eventually lost it, Monti is losing it fast and very little is left.

Almost like A-Ron who sat for 3 years after slipping in the 1st round and only played 24 total games in college.

It’s a fair question to ask what the Rams know about QB identification and development.

it would be insane to assert that Rodgers was as experienced as Alex Smith, who had been in the league for the same amount of time but started 30 games at that point.

They turned Baker around in 3 months, he has said as much. They took Stafford from a gunslinger to a SB winner. They knew Goff wasn't a SB type QB. They won a playoff game with John Wolford.

very good point that I find myself plugging my ears saying “LALALALALA I CAN’T HEAR YOU” about. there really is no evidence or reason to have blind faith in him other than I need to have some hope for this season. I admit it. The NFL has me right where it wants me. A complete addict.
