Gives Cards a good chance to realize Beck is better and they can freely avoid huge reaches.
I like Beck. Probably more than most.
But I been watching Simpson the past couple days and he is a much better prospect than I have been giving him credit for.

truth. I wouldnt be mad if they used 34 and like 105 to move up into the late twenties to pick him...the fifth round is important for a QB...the kid is smart. learns terminology and concepts quickly...and has strong poise when a play breaks down.
That poise is the biggest thing Beck is weak in..he may learn it over time..but the "Ice in his veins" kinda thing seams to be natural with Simpson...much like it is with Mahomes.

still kinda rather our draft go Love, OT, OG in the first three rounds. But I wont be mad if they draft Simpson, as long as they dont use a top fifteen pick to do it

He's 6' 1"

3 inches taller than you know who

Is he able to stand tall in the pocket and takes shots while throwing?

Will be be able to find holes in the line to see through?

Can he read a defense?

Does he panic under pressure?

So many negatives to this kid. Or should I say oldster, in QB prospect terms. It's criminal he's being considered with a top draft pick.

Are you sure the shorty was 5' 10", I know that's what they listed him as, he looked 5' 6" to me.

Kurt Warner said in an interview that he is only 6'.5". So Ty Simpson is actually taller than Warner.
Heard Simpson measured 6'2" at the combine?? At least that's what was said in an interview.
But maybe he is 6'2 like I was as a youngster...6' 1.5" barefoot, lol...
But gawdammit the us Navy and my driver's license says 6'2...so I'm claiming it, lol

The sweet spot for QB success seems to be 6'3... or 6'2-6'4 ...
I love me a prototype but height over 75 inches has not proven to be a success indicator in nfl QB's....
A QB being 6'6 or more has a higher failure rate than QB's under 5'9.....
But that could be skewed by the short guys being culled at lower levels of play.

Anyway. All that just to say... IMNSHO height is not an issue with Ty Simpson.
Lack of game experience is really the lone issue...because playing half the season sick...with his body weight steadily declining...makes it tough...
It's not a huge stretch to suggest if Ty had stayed healthy he wins a few more games...and posts better tape...as much as starts are an issue, had he played all season like he did the first 6 weeks BAMA gets a better bowl invitation, and NFL talking heads would be spouting on about how number of starts don't matter, it's an obsolete indicator due to the quality of modern players and the fact Ty is a coaches son.

Best part about BAMA sliding...is that Simpson got a chance to play exactly how he will need to play for a team drafting a QB early in the first...because he won't be going to a team that has it all together

You just posted the most confusing way to say 6 foot and half an inch--it looks like 6 foot five! Anyway, wow, that means Ty Simpson will be even better than Kurt Warner, right? Right???

C'mon, Krang. Do better.

I've got a new comp for Simpson. He's a shorter Daniel Jones with only a single year of experience in college, and without the mobility.
No denying Daniel Jones had a really good year last year, shame he didn't get the chance to finish it. I'm a fan - I hope he comes roaring back this year and leads the Colts to the playoffs.

Former Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson is expected to be a late first-round draft pick on Thursday night, which will bring him a guaranteed four-year contract worth around $20 million. But he considered turning that down for a big-money offer to stay in college.

Simpson, who has previously said that Miami offered him $6.5 million to transfer and play for the Hurricanes in 2026, said on David Pollack’s podcast that the money was too good not to at least think about.

He made the smart choice. This draft is bereft of QBs on the top end--only Mendoza is worth a 1st or 2nd. He knew he'd get his bag. Next year? Unless he showed more, he'd be lucky to be the 5th or 6th QB taken.

Moore made the wrong choice. His stock can only go down.

Taking the 6.5 million to not be drafted by the cardinals would have been the better move for Simpson. Probably gonna have a nervous stomach at the thought of having to play for MB this coming Thursday.

Height doesn’t scare me as much as experience. It’s about QB composure and scheme. Some 6’1” QBs have succeeded but the lack of experience would have no precedent. Still there’s always next year if he fails. If you can get him near bottom third of round one, like 20, your not giving up much if you got a RT at 12. At 20 you’re looking IOL, DT or WR I presume. None of those candidate are sure things. They’re probably role players. So the risk seems low.

He played in 1 less college game as Pat Mahomes at 31 vs Pat with 32 and last season led the SEC (7th on all of college football) for both attempts and completions. Yes, he didn't have the total number of reps as Pat in their careers, but it's not like he only payed 1 year and and declared. Plus, he faced Alabamas defense for 4 years. Hes not Anthony Richardson who declared after his Sophomore year and 20 total games played. Yes, he lacks experience, but he has more than some recent top picks.

Also, I just looked this up. Ty played more games and had way more reps than Kyler!
