I don’t understand Monti. Shouldn't we be publicly in love with Love?

Sounds like you are describing a QB and not a RB.
Im talking about a pick...sometimes they trade a pick because they think they can get the guy they want several picks later..say, at 10...
But in the case suggested, it would be asking Monti to trade the pick so the other team can pick the specific guy he wants...
just seams to me that scenario makes for a more expensive swap

obviously the numbers were pulled straight from my rectum...but the actual point is the same.

But that just motivates them to trade with the jets...
" Hey Monti, trade me that third overall pick because I want to draft the guy you plan to pick" .. turns in to a very expensive conversation.

I mean don't get me wrong..if some GM wants to pay the price to buy the player Monti actually wants..I'm all for it. I want Love, but 3 firsts and two 2's does a lot for the teams future.
Would come in handy if we have to maneuver for a player next year.
No player after #1 is getting that kind of return in this draft. IMO

I'm thinking a good trade down is their number 1 and 2nd if their pick is still top 12. You might be able to squeeze out a 3 rd in 27, but I'm not sure.

Nevermind it already happened. I missed this meeting.

As of March 2026, the Arizona Cardinals have held meetings with Notre Dame star running back Jeremiyah Love ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. Reports suggest the Cardinals are considering drafting Love with the 3rd overall pick to create a dynamic backfield, despite him being considered a potential top-10 prospect.

my point was simply,...the trade for 3 would cost a team less if Monti is not enamored of any specific player... but telling him you plan to pick the exact guy he wants is only going to raise his asking price.
versus, say...the team at 6 calling Monti and asking for a trade because they want to draft Reese....in that scenario, Monti can see a reasonable chance that Love might still be available at 6...so it is not 100% that the guy he likes will be gone.

If Monti was telling people he was leaning towards drafting Love, why would other teams contact him about trading our 3rd so they could draft Love? Wouldn’t it make more sense for them to reach out if it looked like we were set at RB?

Anyway, it appears this board is split between those wanting to fire Monti if he drafts Love and those who would fire Monti if he doesn’t. Talk about a no-win situation.

I just hope he has better luck securing free agents and draft picks that stay healthy and live up to their potential. Then, together with better coaching this year, perhaps we can achieve enough success to find a good quarterback in 2027 that wants to be a Cardinal.
I’m not sure they’d buy it. Nobody traded for Murray after the Cards made a big show they might just keep him. These phony rumors seem to have little impact anymore.

Dallas would be the best return if still on the table. Nobody would likely pay more.

the power of love is a curious thing
make a one man miss - leave another in pain

change a seahawk - into a little white dove
more than a marshawn - that's the power of love

tougher than conner - rich like cream
stronger and harder - than lafleur's dreams

don't need no murray when love is our game - don't need no bully line to guide this train - it's strong and sudden - and it's cruel sometimes - but he might just save our lives

that's the power of love

Come on no GM is going to say we're taking this dude. Unless you got the #1 pick. We all just said show some interest, which they did already.

If the Cards pass on Love, you can rest assured he’ll be the next Adrian Peterson.
So it all depends on us. He'll be a great player, just as long as we don't draft him. Any chance his agent will ship us a few of his other clients at less than market value?

He wouldn’t be effective behind this line….take st Francis and d line at 34…unless lafleur has to have Simpson which is ok if he thinks he is the savior…
get Love at 3...then get Big Max from ASU at 34...
if you really want to hit it hard, there are immediate starters at guard available with the first pick in the 3rd round...add that to what we have and the free agent guard we just signed...and the offensive line will be a strength for the first time in two decades...and Love will wow fans all season long..
added bonus, the offensive line will have time to gel and mature together before we bring in a rookie QB next draft.
