Your right - they didn't update the team page then.

They still have quite a few people on there

Wink Martingdale is a DOG. He’s honestly like a defensive version of BA imo. He knows the ropes, knows his job, embraces being fast and physical and is never scared to speak his mind. I worry about him staying on the cutting edge but I’ve coached for 20 years now and firmly embrace keeping things simple and stupid so players are free to make the most of their abilities.

If not Wink, I really like Aubrey Pleasant too. He’s been in the meetings with LaFleur and knows his way around offense and defense. He knows what LaFleur will be doing on O and what he wants from the D.

If we had more experience in the staff, I’d be more comfortable with Vasso who I also really like. He’s a young, smart, ascending guy who has a bright future imo.
My goodness, I can't help it when I hear that name.

Merritt spent the last two seasons as the running backs coach at the University of Miami. Hurricanes starter Mark Fletcher posted 1,192 yards and 12 touchdowns on 216 carries during the 2025 season.

Merritt has also worked for USF, Georgia Southern, Tennessee, James Madison, and Ohio State. He has done two NFL coaching fellowships, including one with the 49ers when LaFleur was on that team’s staff in 2019. The other one came with the Bengals in 2016.

Matt Schaub was a brainy QB. He did the things I really like in a QB. He could read defenses, recognize where single coverage was and audible to take advantage. He wasn’t Warner, but he was good. He also was effective at identifying blitzes and throwing into exposed areas or to hot reads. If he can teach that he’d be a huge help to current QB options.

If they don't hire Pleasent, I'd be floored!
I think I would like Dino Vasso. I just think he seems more interesting as an up-and-coming coach, and I like what he has done with the Texans’ secondary. Also, it matters to me that both Jim Schwartz and Matt Burke have been pushing for teams to give him a chance.

Having said that, stealing a high ranked coach from the Rams would also be nice.

I stick to my initial guess that they will hire Pleasant.
