I worked at a business where the bosses basically told us this in a company wide meeting. It wasn't the usual try and achieve rah rah speech, but hide in the middle so you don't get laid off.Anybody that's going to basic training I tell them "be the gray man" - which is basically the same concept
You don't think that sometimes, the best way to learn is by failing wildly? I am a "successful" business owner now because I learned what NOT to do in several stops along the way in my career, and have made enough mistakes of my own, to help me the next time a similar situation arose. Just because Hackett wasn't a good head coach, doesnt mean he didnt learn how to impart what NOT to do on others, or even himself.
Oh! Pleasant was the guy that Dan Campbell fired mid season in 2022. I remember the Lions had a massive turn around after he was fired. The Rams pass defense was also underwhelming.Could Aubrey Pleasant end up on Mike LaFleur's staff in some capacity since he's not gonna be the Rams defensive pass coordinator and assistant head coach in the 2026 season?

Still holding out hope of some experienced (former DC) senior defensive advisor.

Yes!
He joined the Arizona Cardinals coaching staff as coach of defensive backs in 2007. In 2009, he helped the team reach Super Bowl XLIII, where the Cardinals would lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media

Ironically enough, it was due to a DB failure. He joined the Arizona Cardinals coaching staff as coach of defensive backs in 2007. In 2009, he helped the team reach Super Bowl XLIII, where the Cardinals would lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Super Bowl.
Or a coaching failure. Who decided to scheme Aaron freaking Francisco to cover Santonio Holmes?Ironically enough, it was due to a DB failure.
I'm guessing the DC.Or a coaching failure. Who decided to scheme Aaron freaking Francisco to cover Santonio Holmes?
