The #AZCardinals have requested #Rams assistant head coach and defensive pass game coordinator Aubrey Pleasant to interview for their DC job, source said.

Pleasant, who was a strong contender for #Chargers DC job, will interview with a former colleague in AZ.

By the way, Albert Breer brought up Aubrey Pleasant and Dino Vasso as potential candidates. I am sticking to my guess of Pleasant and someone experienced as DC and OC, but I didn’t know anything about Vasso, so I did a little research.

I think that Pleasant would be an interesting hire, but I also think that Hackett opens up for a lot of other up-and-coming DC-options, because he will be the experienced coordinator.

The only thing consistent I've heard from playcalling headcoaches is you really need to nail the hire on the other side of ball, because there won't be any time to coach the side you're not calling plays for.

Hiring a first time or very inexperienced DC to go against McVay, Shanahan, and Seahawks - not a great plan.

We see how it worked with Rallis who went 3-12 vs division the last three years.
