Disagree. I think candidates look at HCs in their division, and quality of team, and it factors heavily. There's been no cycling with the 3 teams in our division. At least two have made the playoffs for the last how many years? When was the last time any of them had a losing record? When the Niners drafted Lance because of injuries?

Niners, Rams and Chicks have this division locked down. Practically guaranteed 10 wins each per year for the foreseeable. The only possible change is if Stafford retires and McVay decides to join him or move on. But they have two 1st's this year and I expect them to turn them into capital for next years QB class. Or draft someone like Nussmeier and have him learn.
I don't want a coach that's scared of tough competition. I'm sure what you say applies to a number of possible coaches and if that's the case, keep their azzes out of AZ. If you have to wait until the rest of the teams in the division stink, to which your point that it's likely to be a while, then we may as well pass on the next half a decade of football.

He had some success with Tua and I think Kyler is more talented. Would be interesting.
Kyler is the antithesis of want McDaniel wants to build his offense around. I don’t think Kyler will be here regardless.

McDaniel, just like Shanny & McVay, prefers QBs that throw to the MOF. I actually believe if we go Ty Simpson one way or another, McDaniel & Simpson would be a great fit with each other.

Interesting, I don’t know or understand system differences as well as some of you guys but that makes sense.

Rich Eisen suggested Robert Saleh could bring McDaniel in as his OC if McDaniel doesn't get a HC gig. They apparently worked together in SF.

Just on a surface level, McDaniel prefers under-center, heavy motion, & MOF throws.

That's the hire that would win the press conference for sure.
This would be a clear message to the fans that Bidwill is finally serious about winning.
Harbaugh would demand a big say in personnel. That alone could kill this possibility.

@Russ Smith would literally Lose his crap.

Dude I would drive to Arizona meet him at the airport and take him to the Cardinals if that happened.

it won't happen they supposedly wanted a 1st rounder for him before the trade deadline. they have 2 other good RB's so I can certainly see them being willing to trade him, but in other words they're not taking Benson and a 4th or even probably a 2nd rounder for him

If people want McDaniel I have to ask did you watch them play? Remember all the complaints about the short passes in the Kliff offense? Miami throws so many short passes it's crazy. I get they wanted to get the ball to Achane because he's amazing, but they would just over and over throw him a 2 yard pass and say ok get a first down, I wouldn't call it innovative at all. Part of it was Tua has a weak arm and they wanted to protect him with short passes but the lack of downfield with them was alarming.

But I am such an Achane fan I'd be willing to hire McDaniel if it meant we got him but as I just posted the rumor before the trade deadline was they wanted a first for Achane.

Part of it?
You really don’t think ALL of it was?

I don't know because after they benched Tua they ran the same offense. But to be fair, by then Hill was out injured and Waddle wasn't really playing much so they may have just not had the personnel to go downfield more with Ewers.

They were unwatchable. McDaniel’s arc has a HC was very similar to Kliff’s. I expect him to get an OC job.

What does he bring to the table here? He couldn’t win with a two-time MVP. The infrastructure in Baltimore is fantastic. He can identify assistants, but that’s not really where we are.
There is no table in Bidwill's house. Poverty franchises like us can't afford to turn down proven winners. (Not that we have a history of courting such coaches) Can you imagine a world where we'd say as a fan base, nah I'm good on Harbaugh. Gimme Klayton Adams!

The whole world could scream for the Cardinals to hire Harbaugh & our cheap ass owner would hire an assistant OL coach lol, just life as a cards fan knowing whom the owner is.
He’s not interviewing now because he wants to see if a playoff team changes. The Cards seem to be reasonably distant from what he’s looking for
