I don’t undestand it. Willis may be a dumb signing. That is a real life meatball statement about Justin Fields
It'll be way worse if we have a lame duck coach and GM.We hear it all the time.
And how much might it have help Willis on the bench for 2 years behind Love?
A first round qb ids going to cost 35-40m. If he flops we are sunk.
I’m not sure what Willis will command, 13-15m per year? ( guessing) more ? Less?
Somebody pointed out Willis was in Tennessee when Monti was there. Might that mean something?
Yeah, no thanks.I’m hearing they’re projecting a minimum of $20 a year for 2 years to get Willis.

No way at that numberYeah, no thanks.
Great. Maybe they’ll extend so Gannon isn’t a lame duck. This is shaping up nicely. It'll be way worse if we have a lame duck coach and GM.
Here we are again worrying about Bidwill’s millions.A first round QB may cost that over the life of their contract but this drafts top QB Cam Wards cap hit this year is less than $9 Million and is never over $15.6 million.
A late first round QB like Jaxson Dart has a cap hit of around $3 million and never exceeds $5.5 million.
People are guessing Willis has a market approaching $20 million. Is Willis year 1 potential worth 2-6 times what a draft pick is?

We’ve been playing this game for years and it’s gotten us nothing.
Other teams spend over the cap and then make their cuts next year.
We don’t. We don’t even spend THIS years cap.
It’s irrelevant. Gannon and Kyler’s are returning. So we can stop worrying about getting Qb .

Those dudes will be in walkers by the time they build a new locker roomThe cardinals will bring in Flacco, Rivers and Cousins
Then they'll build the new locker room in Sun City
They accelerated some cap in-season by releasing Monti’s past mistakesAccording to Over the Cap, the Cardinals currently only have $2.3 million of cap space available. They spent their money unwisely but they did spend their money. The problem with this team is they rarely get creative and on those rare occasions when they do it ends up being a stupid move, I blame the front office for that.

Well, Sun City is a retirement community....LOLThose dudes will be in walkers by the time they build a new locker room
That’s what happens when you use the June 1 designationI see they have $28+ million in dead money on the books, Justin Jones is $11 million of that!
Also how on Earth are we still on the hook for DJ Humphries? $6.9 million!
That’s what happens when you use the June 1 designation
That’s just an accountant tool. It’s not relevant. In actual cash spending for 2025, the Cardinals were #28 in the NFL, while their cash-over-cap number was the 18th biggest.According to Over the Cap, the Cardinals currently only have $2.3 million of cap space available. Suppose they pay Willis $24M/year, and draft an edge or OT in round 1. They'll have that edge or OT on a nice cost controlled salary for 5 years.A first round QB may cost that over the life of their contract but this drafts top QB Cam Wards cap hit this year is less than $9 Million and is never over $15.6 million.
A late first round QB like Jaxson Dart has a cap hit of around $3 million and never exceeds $5.5 million.

If and only if we don't trade up for Mendoza, bring on Flacco baby! The cardinals will bring in Flacco, Rivers and Cousins
Then they'll build the new locker room in Sun City
I understand. But what I’m saying is we can have both.I am not worrying about Bidwills millions, I am worried about spending too much one one position when multiple positions need to be addressed. See the difference? Is it Willis at 20 million and that is it or is it an OG at 11 million and a rookie QB at 9 million? I'd take the latter.
If you think that Willis can be good (like make a couple of pro bowls, pass for 4k yards per season), I understand your argument but disagree with your premise.Suppose they pay Willis $24M/year, and draft an edge or OT in round 1. They'll have that edge or OT on a nice cost controlled salary for 5 years.
Or they could gamble on the 2nd or 3rd best QB this draft in round 1 and have him on a nice cost controlled salary for 5 years... and pay $24M/year for an actually good veteran OT.
In his small sample size, Willis has shown that he has a chance to be a very good starting QB. I don't watch a lot of college ball but it seems there's huge skepticism about any QB after Mendoza in the draft. So I'd gamble on Willis before Moore or Simpson.
I've literally never seen Beck or Nussmeier play but from what I'm reading here, maybe they'd be worth a shot in the 2nd or 3rd rounds. But now we're talking serious long shots to ever be starting QBs, and then only with a great coaching staff to develop them.
This isn't crazy! He is trying to get a 6th year of college but he kind of reminds me of Mahome's. He's got a good arm and keeps plays alive with some crazy throws. That 30-40 yard play on the run to his right was special.Hey call me crazy but if that Chambliss kid continues to impress during the next game or beyond and decides to enter I’d take a flyer on him. Hes got lots of game experience and won a national title in division two and has Ole Miss on the brink. Seems like a good kid. I’m not saying with our 1st but a 2nd or 3rd rounder if he’s there.
