All these things can be true at the same time:

Wilson had a really outstanding game

Wilson showed some upside Sunday that the team should build on

Wilson's stats were likely inflated due to the game situation / defensive posture

Wilson is not better than Marv

The augment is that 600 yards, a couple of TDs, and 70%+ snaps is valuable out of a #3 receiving option (you have to consider McBride's target and reception volume). 10 mil is not a lot for that level of production and the three year duration becomes beneficial as it lowers the risk. In a perfect world, you are probably correct. But on a team who is trying to build/increase overall talent on the roster, I think it would be a smart move.
I can see this point, especially as a factor of our current roster composition and seemingly lack of ability to attract talent (if I was a true WR2, I sure as heck wouldn’t want to play on Petz’s offensive scheme) nor the unknown QB situation.

Ultimately, I’d rather pony up and pay an extra few mil for a real WR2 or better yet since we are still in rebuild spend 2nd round pick on a WR2 in what is suppose to be a loaded WR class.

Oh, only if we had double dipped on a loaded class instead of drafting DRob this would be a non conversation likely.

On a 3-year, $30 million extension you’re also probably able to keep Wilson’s Cap number around $8 million per season in the new years (actually even lower if you really want) because his 2026 cap number is currently $1.6 million.

in just 2 games as the number one anquan wilson has 25 receptions for 303 yards

(that's not a typo)

averaging 12 a catch - has catches of 30 yards+ in both games - who's both going to get open and fight for the ball when we're backed up on 3rd down? the guy who's been overlooked all his cardinal life - he's talking like it's all prophecy coming to fruition now too like he always knew

Mike ain't getting less than Curtis Samuel got 3 years ago.

That's less than Shakir, Mooney, Slayton and Bateman.

His floor, the floor for any capable WR2, is $18m per.

After grabbing a total of 21 yards in his first three games, at the 11 game mark of the season, Michael Wilson has more yards than Charmin Harrison Jr.

That’s pathetic considering where Charmin was drafted/hype. Wilson is a decent receiver and Harrison trends more towards bust with each successive season.

Maybe in the open market but he’s getting the money early. 3 for $40 is a good deal if you control him for the next four.

Could get multiple firsts for Charmin this offseason, people are saying

Well yes, that is probably true today vs what it was 2 games, 25 catches and 303 yards ago. We live in a different world today.

As wrong as the OG comment was, why do you have to also lie about it and say someone claimed we could get multiple firsts for him when they only said we could get 1?

I said it before, but unless McVay, KOC, McDaniel, or Shanny fell into our laps, I don’t think McBride, Marv, & Michael can reach their ceilings together.
I love MW but I want to see if he keeps it up. MHJ would be a great #3 option in theory. He should pattern his game after D-Hop b/c he’s just not a burner.

There are two different things. There's the outlier, 0.001 percentile outcome. Then there's the top 20th percentile outcome, which I think is, like, an Amari Cooper-type player? Cooper had a first-round pedigree and got 130 targets his rookie season. With that kind of volume, I think Michael Wilson can be a low-end #1 (if he can stay healthy which he's literally never been able to do).

Wouldn't be surprised to see the middle of the bell curve be in the area of Muhsin Muhammad.
Unsure why I’m getting called out here. Quote me if you want me to apologize about something. This seems like a pretty positive evaluation.

I’m not ready to say he’s a young Amari Cooper, but obviously he’s not Kadarious Toney.

Can you cite one of these people that said that
Fair enough some people are saying you can get two picks including a first rounder for Marvin Harrison Jr and also replace him with Wan’dale Robinson.
