anybody else catch the chicken coach interview before the game - when asked what they'll do against our defense he said they'll do and stick to what they're good at - we don't do that

we have 10 days until our next game - if it's gonna happen it'll be now or during the bye
10 days is enough, can’t wait until the bye week. Come out with a gamelan that is aggressive and keeps pressure on the defense, even if we go no huddle a lot. Tempo, Tempo, Tempo. IDK, watch the Detroit Lions film past couple years and copy some of their concepts

Waiting 10 days that an entire off-season couldn’t fix is a loser mentality… do f n something AZ!

now look at seattle - and keep in mind benson averaged the same amount of yards as walker (slightly higher actually)

that's 34 rushes not counting darnold - true we were playing from behind but damn - might be part of why - benson only had 4 carries in the first half- where we only scored 3 points

and it's not normal - we actually run the rock a lot - the whole nfc west does for that matter but not last night - not us - we should be up by seattle considering we've played an extra game but with 12 lousy rushes...
(carries on the left - yards on the right - seattle leads league in carries)

Petzing didn’t abandon the run. JG clearly stated in his post game presser that the game plan last night was always to throw the ball. And it almost worked.

hard to run when you're playing from behind

Ok…so one team stayed true to their identity and the other changed theirs. I understand not wanting to bang your head against a brick wall all game but to let another team just impact your core offensive identity is kinda wild. Maybe some better self scouting could have prevented all of this.

again - stats show benson averaging more than any rb on the field - probably could've broke one for a decent chunk - we give benson 19 carries and gets 100
Christian McCaffrey had a 9% success rate vs. that Seahawks DL when they played. Our guards were getting blown up all game. I guarantee Bensons YPC would have tanked if we tried the "impose our will" method.

The Seahawks have one of the best defenses in the league. Its just a tough matchup.

so we stopped running because we wouldn't be good at it later? because again - benson averaged more yards per run than anyone not playing qb

Its not like we had a super effective run game and then stopped for no reason. We only ran when they dared to us to, which wasnt often. We had a couple of runs that weren't a complete disaster, that's it. It's a lot easier to get 4.4 ypc on 8 runs than it is to get KWalkers 4.3 on 20 carries. YPC on fewer than 10 runs is a meaningless stat.

I'm saying if Benson had gotten 20 carries his ypc would have closer to 2.0 than 4.0. We've seen our RBs get hit in the backfield all season. The Seahawks are by far the nastiest defense we've played and they dominated our OL the entire game.

Benson has a 34.5% successful rate—how often he keeps the offense on schedule. Only three rushes out of eight Thursday night were successful.

Charbonnet and Walker are in the 40s

I think this fact has been overlooked some. SEA might be the best team in the NFC.

I’m not one for moral victories, and we have to find a way to beat them.

But the defense kept us in the game, and while they outplayed us, we had a chance to steal it from them at the end.

We had some embarrassing moments, but we were competitive. Actually Thursdays game was more competitive than either SEA game last year. And I think we scored more points Thursday than either game last year too.

We are a better running team than the niners. I posted the proof of that before the game.
We should have dropped the hammer on the hags until they proved they could stop it...because we still had a higher average ypc than they allowed all season.
But The Petzing is a coward.

Lost the turnover battle and still nearly won.
Why? Because we are the better team.
We just can't get out of our own way and just play football
