JG after the game said he had zero issue with the playcall, and doubled down the following day. We had a horrendous offensive performance on Sunday. If the playcalling wasn't the problem - what was?
Are YOU saying playcalling and this scheme isn’t a problem?

JG is doing coaches speak for an OC’s @$$ that is against the fire right now.. 3 games into the season.

Use your brain buddy. Read between the lines of what JG is saying. Blame has to go somewhere for a bad offensive performance - JG says it's not the playcaller.

I don't agree with him, for the record.

One read then checkdown isn't a ringing endorsement of your quarterback. This paired with vigorously defending the play call is JG casting the blame directly on K1 and the receivers.
it can be a indictment of the Qb

it can be an indication of a conservative philosophy from a defensive coach that goes something like "I have a good Defense, if I dont have turnovers I will be in every game and win most of them".

maybe a combo of both

Its valid, but it wont get you far in the playoffs (assuming you make them)

Oh is that what JG was saying without saying. Wow - thank you being able to read JG’s mind for us. Rather than him trying to “coach speak” as nearly all coaches do for their staff 3 games in. That would be far from what JGs personality and culture has shown us - I know.

I think the article is very good. Petzing needs to have the offense let players do what they do well.

In his defense, I think being an OC with Murray as your QB is a tough challenge(not a knock on KM for all the fanboys). He's not your typical dropback QB in a structured offense. He and Bryce Young are similar in that regard. People say Kyler's size isn't that much of an issue and use Drew Brees as a comparison. Difference is, Brees was the quintessential pocket QB. Murray is far from that, struggles from the pocket and looks at the rush rather than downfield after about 2-3 counts. If Murray could dropback, hit his spot and throw on timing/rhythm, the offense would run much differently. That's just not his game.

You have to design an offense around Kyler's skillset and Petzing has struggled to do that and that affects the entire passing game.

Completely agree… no difference than Ravens designing an offense around what Lamar does well (plethora of articles out there and I’ve posted them here over the years.. and Eagles to what Hurts does well, etc). Non traditional pocket passers that aren’t being forced to be traditional pocket passers.

You are such a child. When people use unacceptable words, I call them on it, IRL, on message boards, wherever. I'm a proud SJW over here and won't apologize for it. Whereas you are more than willing to tell a poster who has those types of problems in the family to basically suck it up, buttercup. Yeah, a real winning attitude.
Is this Drew Petzing's burner account?

How is anyone here defending our OC right now?

Head coach won't say it but the OC is coaching for his job over the next few weeks.

JG would never do that as seen multiple times so we can kill that talk here.

Is it really so hard to believe that JG who comes from a team (Eagles) that doesn't view WRs as a priority would employ the same type of offensive philosophy here?
The eagles drafted two first-round WRs, traded for another, and paid massive extensions to both Brown and the Slim Reaper. This is an unhinged take.

And same could be said for SP’s background in Cleveland

It’s weird they keep saying Poozing is a Shanahan disciple. He really cut his teeth with Pat Shurmur in Minnesota, who worked with Andy Reid. His first year he worked for Norv Turner.

I also really disagree with the assertion that the WRs have different skill sets. Charmin, Zay, and MWilly profile ver similar to me. It’s just that Kyler vibes with Dortch so we’re putting him in the mix.

No they actually have press credentials and get interviews with coaches.

I realize some of you don't understand the current media shift from legacy TV/Radio but PHNX Sports probably has more listeners than Arizona Sports 98.7.
correct. With their press credentials, PHNX gets full access to practices and training camp.

They are a legitimate news outlet. Kurt Warner and Baldy join their show every week for a segment.

the board so angst-y even after a 2-1 start.

Good thing we're not all in some bar somewhere drinking. It would have come to blows about a dozen times already.

ASFN a powder keg with the Thursday night tilt against the hated seahawks looking like a lit match.
Phenomenal idea. Mandatory ASFN attendance Cardinals viewing party. We'll make it on TMZ.

Thats cool but the truth is they don't use their WRs in a traditional offense at all. There are games where AJ Brown doesn't even get a target or almost no targets. In fact it got so bad last year that there was talk of whether Brown and Hurts were on the outs as teamates.

The eagles are big on ball control and playing good defense which is exactly what we do.

Yep last year they even had Mina Kime which I can't stand but that is heavyweight talent they are getting.

The older crowd here just doesn't know that podcasts/streaming are how most under 50 get their information.

Well Brown had nearly 1500 yards in both 2022 and 2023 and won the Super Bowl while getting 1100+ yards last season.

Last year he had five or fewer targets in four of 14 appearances which probably feels bad. But that’s not the same as the ORGANIZATION not valuing the position, which is obviously false.

They get ~1 to 2,000 views on their Cardinals videos. There's a reason PHNX and ALLCITY sports are always laying people off and canceling shows. They put a lot of money into their program, but aren't seeing the return. Go look at their youtube, many of their shows are getting views down in the hundreds. Their Cardinals livestreams have less than 100 concurrent people watching regularly. Their ASU Football show is live right now and has 46 people watching live.

Bo Brack is ok, Johnny V is a company man who toes the line because he desperately wants JG to like him. They had a short window of potential when Craig Morgan joined to be a journalist, but that evaporated when he quit to go solo.

This is exactly right.
Teams are going to cover 2 us to death and dare our WRs to beat them which they cant.

You have a point there about Kyler. He seems to target his favorites, and I'm sure every QB does, but his favorites are McBride, Tip, and Dorsch. That's not conducive to winning.

Ya I’m not following the Shan coaching tree for Petz… he’s Zimmer/Stefanski - which have been terrible offenses. Esp stefanski.

Also not following why you feel Kyler vibes w Dortch (just bc he’s on the team?)
