Not Much Margin for Error

Man, as bad as I want to say this will be a romp, I've watched far too much Cardinals football in my lifetime to feel 100% comfortable with that take. The Saints are bad, but they are an NFL team. Quite a few times we've been them in their shoes when a team by all accounts should have murdered us. Look no further than 2 years ago when we beat the eagles in their house. Certainly we're not as good as that team was but for all of the vim and vigor this organization has operated with this off season, anything short of a focused, violent, concerted effort will be back breaking to me personally. I'm expecting a fabulous weekend in the bayou of eating, drinking and celebrating with my Cards peoples, not moping home, getting clowned by airport workers on my way through the airport.

I think the biggest factor is big plays on defense. There were not enough last year. When Rattler gets rattled, starts throwing picks; the victory path for the Cards will already be in process. The game script basically says; if the Cards are able to get turnovers in their favor, then James Connor starts running over people and wearing the defense out. You want to ease Kyler into the season with not too much on his shoulders too early. Get that running game going and then he can start taking his shots. Cards roll 27-13.

I will never forget the mnf game versus Atlanta after Katrina. That was a game for the ages.

You are right. I have been to two Cardinal vs. Saints games. One with Warner and one with Palmer. One win and one loss. Both times it was a big party, unlike any other NFL games I've been too. It is like they moved Mardi Gra into the stadium.

Nobody in America cherishes food more than a Louisianan...especially dem cajuns.
They will trash talk your team all through the game...then feed you as much jambalaya and shrimp as you can handle...Gumbo flows like water,...and there is a boil going on at every third or fourth tailgate.

Damn Louisiana...I may have never hit 425 had I never moved there. Come back to cali, the land of vegans, tofu, sushi, and avocado toast...and it still took me nearly ten years to recover from Cajun country.
I love that place. Their hospitality knows no bounds....but dont be a damn yankee.

Loyal fan here... I think the real reason everyone seems to be slightly on edge is due to the following.......

1. Our rebuilt super Dline seems to be be 40% PuP/Hurt
2. If the cards lose to the saints then the effects will be devastating. There exist a fear of the unknown. We are suspicious because we know this is the Cards were talking about.
3. We still have zero clue if Murray is the answer and nobody wants to endure another season of poop.

It would really suck but it wouldn't be devastating for the Cardinals. Well maybe it would be devastating on this board for the next week.

I try not to get too up or down based off of week one. I like to wait at least 4 games to get a true feel for a team.
