Though it is pretty dang funny question. I asked AI for the NFL Cardinals all time playoff completion leader:

Kyler is #5. Hilariously awful.

Passing TDs in the playoffs:

Warner
Palmer
Lomax
Hart
Kyler
Skelton

lol

I just love bringing facts to the feelings thread. Continue on gents!
Ehhh…. We all watch Kyler on Sundays. You’re comparing him to ex Cardinal QBs. lol it’s actually funny. But I know you need to hype him up in your mind for the coming fantasy season :)

We all watch a lot of football and know what we see in Kyler. That is a mid AF guy who looks great at times. But doesn’t really elevate the people around him. A complete letdown for a #1 overall pick with the hype he came in with. A guy who seems to crap the bed in The biggest moments.

The guy has 11 come-from-behind wins in his entire career. Yet you see a guy like Jayden Daniels, who pretty much everybody on this board said didn’t have an NFL career ahead of him at one point had 5 in year 1. lol Dude plays with ice in his veins.

This is like the conversation a couple of sports hosts were having with Rome Odunze, a wide receiver drafted by the Chicago Bears. They asked him about what he wanted for the future, and he said to be one of the best Bears' WR's ever. So, they asked him who he thought was the Bears' top WR ever by yardage. I think he answered Brandon Marshall or some other recent WR. "Nope." they said, "It was Johnny Morris with 5,059 yards." Odunze's response was, "That's all?"

Another amazing stat: When Larry Centers retired from the NFL in 2004, his 827 receptions were 7th best of all-time in the league. (He is currently ranked 36th best of all-time.)

This franchise is really awful. We’re lucky we don’t get the focus of the Browns because we’re really worse than them. Damn.
The Browns let a real franchise QB walk so they could trade 3 first round picks for a serial rapist, who then played the worst NFL QB season of all time in 2024.

The mid bird in the hand is better than most of your bushes. That's all I am saying. I don't know why everyone is so confident that a better bird is going to fly into our hands.

I am certainly not and have a 100 years of evidence behind me

Agree not confident at all they can find anything better. But I also don’t want to be stuck in mid level purgatory forever either. It’s a dilemma for sure.

If the Cardinals win more than 9 games this season, I believe the Cardinals will use a 2nd-4th round pick on a QB next draft. If they win less, probably a 1st.

I am sure the preference of Monti is to win 9+ games per season over this season and next to have the security to draft a QB in the 2027 NFL draft.

Has it? Let's see what AI says:

2005 NFL average completion percentage 62.5%
2015 NFL average completion percentage 63%
2025 NFL average competion percentage 65.3%

So a 3.2% completion percentage raise in 20 years. So adjust down the variance and on par with Warner and still better than Palmer. So 2nd most accurate QB in franchise history instead of most?
Side note: Whyever would you trust anything AI has to say? It is horribly inaccurate.

Thats my biggest issue.

Everyone wanting to cast off a QB thinking that will solve our problems. Like finding a QB is so easy especially for organizations who have never found one in the draft. If K1 isn't the guy we fall into that bucket.

Truth.
As much as we bag on Kyler, we waited decades to get a QB like him on the team.
But I think that wait is what feeds the disappointment. we wanted a Favre, Elway, Brady, Montana, Mahomes.....
we got Jake Plummer 2.2

It's less about certainty of solving our problems than it is about hoping it might solve the problems. That's why I'm for replacing him. He's not ever going to win us a SB (or probably a playoff game), IMHO. So, why not take a shot elsewhere? Not trying to stir the pot. JMHO.

Totally. This is what pro football reference exists for. And you don’t have to boil the ocean on the way to your answer.

I don’t know if many people think a bridge QB will “solve our problems” as much as be the non-tanking bridge to whatever is next. There’s no releasing Kyler for another two years. We can trade him after this season, but I don’t think we’re going to get a Watson-style bounty for him.

If you’re going to have the 14th pick in the draft and an additional second-rounder or whatever, that’s not going to get you to the top 5 probably.

I don’t know if this Coaching staff and front office survives another tank season.

Jake Plummer > Kyler Murray. Especially with late game, late season heroics. Actually winning in the playoffs, etc.
