Golden State seems to be willing to part with Kuminga for more Steve Kerr friendly vets who will provide a stable roster. Chicago is dying to get Kuminga but Golden State does not seem interested in Giddey. Sounds to me like a perfect opp for a three way trade.

Suns give up Grayson, O Neale, and Richards, and get Giddey.

I wonder if Giddey is even on the Suns radar.

Only concern is that all 3 of them are below average to average defenders.
Giddey gets lots of steals and rebounds. Green had been really improving his D at the beginning of last year. Book was a pretty good defender when CP3 was here.

You might be able to start Book, Green, Giddey, Dunn, and Williams. Bring Brooks (Dunn) off the bench as a defensive sniper. Its not perfect, but it would be interesting.

No. Giddey is 6-8. He could play along side Book and Green. He is a triple double threat every time he plays. He could guard the slowest of opposing 1-3 position players.
His height has nothing to do with as he’s too slow to guard perimeter players. Besides that wasn’t my point you have to trade something of similar salary to get him.

As always (since CP3 got traded) we need both PG and PF. Getting a SF that can actually play PG is okay I guess, especially since our presumably best players are SGs. We will be too small and overpowered in the paint though. So I much prefer Kuminga without knowing much about him. If Giddey is star material though, I want him regardless.

Both Kuminga and Giddey are RFA and Giddey is wants a $30m per year deal. Oneale and Allen make 26.8 and Richards gets us over that number. A deal could be done but it would involve 2 agents and 3 teams.

Giddey has a lot of upside. He's not perfect, of course, or else he wouldn't (potentially) be available from the Bulls (of all teams). But he offers a lot of what the Suns are desperately in need of right now, and fits in well with the kind of youth movement we are trying to implement.

As JCSunsfan mentioned, I'm not sure if he's even being looked at as an option by the Suns, but he should be, and probably over Kuminga, who has a lot of limitations himself.

Golden State fans want to let Kuminga walk because although his is very physically gifted, he has extremely low bball IQ. He makes dumb decisions all the time. He wanted $30 and they did not want to pay it.

Chicago fans want their team to pay Giddey the money because though he lacks speed, he has size and an extremely high basketball IQ. He puts up numbers and helps teams win.

We have seen lots of Kumingas flow through the league. If we trade for him, we will hate him, just like we will likely hate Jalen Green soon. I will take Giddey over Kuminga every day.

i think we'll be grateful for green if we keep him - he's the only reason book won't see a double team everytime down court - and id take giddey over kuminga too but pipe dream

You make a good point. I worry about Booker beating pressure. He struggles against a press especially with a long defender.
it'll be interesting when gillespie comes in to run point - if green goes to the bench gillespie will need create offense that coexists with book

Although it's hard to believe Kuminga has reached his full potential at age 22.

I think you take the chance on young talent if it only costs you a combo of Allen, O'Neale, Richards, or Oso, but I imagine the Warriors want draft capital that the Suns don't have.
and im good with what we got/ended up with - younger than ever - book being the o.g. triple o.g. lol - not everybody is going to pan out but you only need to hit gold a couple few times

This is why adding Kuminga is attractive. Because the Suns are young and more athletic upfront, doesn't mean they have fixed the interior.

Some players will take time to develop.

If this had happened, I think the Suns would have still gone big in the first round but drafted a point guard later.

Relying on Mark Williams and Nick Richards at center is risky business.

I was noticing Nick Richards is listed as a center/power forward. Playing Richards with Oso was not a good combination.

However, I wouldn't mind experimenting with a front line of Williams/Richards or Khaman/Richards if the Suns wanted to go big.

Booker will see the double team but Green should make the other team pay. Did not work with Beal but coaching matters.

Kuminga is not attractive to me. It would be like getting Ayton back. A player with all the physical tools in the world but something wrong upstairs so that it goes to waste. If we trade for Kuminga, we will regret it.
