I like Richards, especially for the price. Hopefully Oso can play some power forward.
If it was old time NBA Oso would be a good PF. Now they want PFs to stretch the floor. IDK, they need to completely break down his three point shot and start over. Their own Suns videos of him shooting threes is HORRIFIC. Made me wonder why they put those out there. LOL.

I don't think Oso's outside shot is a secret. It's terrible. The Suns may have to go old school on Oso unless they can rework his shot.

we've been talking about oso at pf - i first brought it up last season

ouchie said oso no bueno at pf without a midrange or 3 ball of any sort - i agreed - but AND THIS IS A HUGE BUT - if maluach can shoot the 3.... you can leave oso cutting to or occupying the key - no jumper needed there - we tried it with oso and bol bol with some success (coming off the bench) but bud sent oso to the g-league and nurk to siberia

I think I saw Suns not bringing Bol Bol back. Just an FYI.

You can only have so many projects. You have to choose.
I am guessing his lack of defense is what cooked him. Dude can score. Unfortunately you can drive on him, which causes teammates to help, opening up other opposing players to score.

We definitely went defense so far in guys we are acquiring, except for maybe Brea. I see where some guys say Green plays defense, and others say he doesn't. So far a mixed bag on the research on him.

This GM seems to prioiritze defense, which makes me wonder how Green fits into this mix.

On the other Suns forum I read, someone pointed out that Devin Booker tends to reflect the personality of the biggest star or the strongest personality on his team. When that was Chris Paul, Booker had a great season. When Booker tended to imitate Kevin Durant more recently...not so good. I wonder what would happen if Booker fell under the influence of Dillon Brooks, who will likely be the strongest personality on the 2025-26 team.
We May experience some “technical” difficulties

Agreed. You can’t place any have one guy that can’t shoot (not ideal) but not two.

Please, Bobby, if only it could happen. The Suns could be a normal team again.

Bobby Marks Jun 28, 2025, 01:21 PM ET, ESPN:

One move I would make: Negotiate a contract buyout with Bradley Beal that reduces his $110 million in guaranteed salary to $80 million. The $80 million is then stretched over five years, giving Phoenix a $16 million cap hit per year. The savings would put Phoenix under the first and second apron and save the Suns nearly $200 million in luxury taxes.

ive been too rosey since the draft

do we have anything cartoonists in the building? i wish i could draw the "welcome to phx" sign with beal front and center smiling his ass off holding ish by the balls
another one with tourists taking selfies infront of the ishigan state building not knowing what it is - or putting a giant thermometer on it since it's the mercury's house now - that would actually be really cool if it was functioning- you could do it digital screen style

I'm still expecting salary moves in the next 24 hours as the Suns have until tomorrow to duck below the 2nd apron for the 2024-2025 season and avoid potential repeater penalties. The guaranteeing of Nick Richards' salary leads me to believe they are confident he can be traded in a salary dump and net some sort of positive return.

The Suns also have until tomorrow to waive or guarantee Cody Martin's final year at $8.7M. I expect him to be waived unless he can get positive return while taking minimal salary back.

Man, this would be fantastic but I don't see the incentive for Beal here. Even if he could make the 30M back over these 2 years (MLE would pretty much cover it), he gives up his NTC in the process. He's demonstrated that neither winning nor playing are a priority for him.

I'd like to keep Cody Martin and I think there is a trade market for him as well.

Sitting at home for the next two seasons is not a great option for him either, but I think the Suns already have a plan agreeable for both.

I hope it is not wishful thinking.

I meant to put this here:

The Suns are keeping Nick Richards. This is a good move IMO, providing insurance at the center position.

That’s a good move with the rook being 18 and Williams being fragile.

With Robinson opting out, Miami supposedly now have the mid exception open that can sign Beal for. It'd be a great winning situation for him to go, whether Kumincha or Wiggins is their SF, they'd have a strong starting 5 with Beal to contend in the east. And Atlanta is another option that he might be comfortable with.
