I dont think moving KD anywhere helps or hurts the suns organization, if we moved Book then yes. KD has actually earned a lot of negativity by his own actions, so i think his reputation actually would help justify the Suns decisions in sending him wherever we want and not where he wants. Team hopping, coaches fired, arguing on social media, etc. Being a diva.

It helps us with the cap and getting assets back. In terms of KD, he has been well behaved here IMO. I think he has been nothing but supportive of Book as well. It just didn't work out. In terms of Book? I am one of the few on this board that thinks we should move him while he is at peak value because we are not winning a title before Book retires barring some amazing trade to get a legit #1 in here to play with him with the time he has left.

That is good news. I wouldn't do a deal with the Spurs without the #2 or Castle also. Glad they aren't allowing KD's preference set the price.

I agree that a three-year restructure wouldn't be a bad outcome considering the way things look at the moment. The question is if Ishbia has the good sense to follow that.

It works 2 fold with me because I'd rather see his free spending and risk taking approach in a less long term damaging scenario.
I can't completely bash him because I think he made the immediate moves that he did from an inexperienced and overzealous position.
Buying a team fresh in the mix of championship aspirations could make you make some bold decisions.
I was very much in favor of the aggression right out the gate.

But yes as you said...the true test will be if he can recognize that he's at a point where he needs to temper his ambitions and take a more sustainable approach

The Suns shouldn't go any further down the rabbit hole with Durant. They got his list. I don't think they should trade him to bottom feeders or anything that extreme because it would ruin the Suns reputation but the Suns do need to consider what is best for the franchise.

I don't think the Suns should give 2 turds about Durant's preference.

They should take the best offer they can, with zero regard, and I don't think it will make one iota of difference to their reputation.

And we're not getting another star for a long long time unless we luck into one in the draft. I really don't see some free agent in 2033 saying to themselves "they did an ancient KD dirty 8 years ago... I dunno about those guys.

Since when does team reputation not matter? I don’t recall a perennial bad team getting super stars asking to go there or it being a destination.

I think it’s the right thing to do with any superstar. Not let them dictate one team but have them give you a list and you try and make it work. If you can’t? At least you can say you did everything you could.

Yeah, I think that trade would be a complete disaster for the Wolves. It would be great if we could get some picks down the line because that team is probably going to be hot garbage in about 3 years.

As you said, reputation and location matter. Thinking back when the best free agent the Suns could get was Trevor Ariza.

Also, Durant should be willing to go to a team like Minnesota if location weren't a factor.
