This would be perfectly cogent if not for the praise from Gannon since he took over the helm. If you were a regular viewer of Gannon's pressers on YouTube, you would know this to be true.

And we keep hearing about how hard Murray works in the weight room, but not a word about how much time he puts into film study, mental preparation, the insights he has into how an opponent will defend certain routes, how he took advantage of a tendency he saw on film, etc.

I'll go with what I hear and perceive from Gannon, and pay little attention to the old leaks from Keim, the drunk, that haters choose to glean at this point.

What do we expect Kyler to be at this point?

He is clearly not "generational" as some thought when he was drafted...he is also not a bust.

He is the 10th highest paid QB - about to be the 12th when Darnold and Purdy sign new deals.

Is he a guy that is top 12-15 in the NFL? Yes and he still has upside even in year 7.

Is he the guy that will win you a Super Bowl like Mahomes, Brady, etc? No but not many can do that.

Can he be a guy that can consistently wins 10 games and make the playoffs with the right talent and coaching around him? I think so.

I personally think 2024 Kyler was the best I have seen him play since 2021. I also expect him to get better in 2025.

I want to see JG/Monti continue to build this team into a consistent playoff team (starting in 2025). If and when we can replace Kyler with a better option, I think we will.

There really is no evidence that he has or hasn't changed his study habits. I will say this whatever he's doing isn't working.

I'm sticking with Kyler Murray in 2025, because he recognized they need to be better. His leadership righted the ship. MHJ will be great and year 1 is tough for rookie outside WRs. I think they will grow in 2025 and make the playoffs. They have a lot of good pieces in place.

You mean the 2024 version of Kyler Murray that completely melted down in the 2nd half of the season, panicked whenever under any pressure, tossed several INTs, and could barely complete passes for no more than 5-10 yards the majority of the season? I don't know how his "leadership" righted the ship. They were 6-4 and will end up no better than 8-9, or worst case, 7-10. If the latter, that means they went 1-6 down the stretch. The blame is not just on KM - the OC and HC deserve a heaping portion of the blame.

Kyler stays. Petzing stays. We continue to build the team and continuity.
At some point, when all the excuses are erased and it becomes evident Murray can’t do it hopefully the team is strong enough to plug in a new Qb.

All evidence to the contrary. A lot has changed through his time with the Cards. The main constant is Kyler Murray. He's a choke artist under pressure, so I don't think any amount of talent around him is going to turn him into a regular playoff QB. He can sneak in sometimes, can back in, but he's only done that once in six years, so...yeah.
