I'm sorry, if you are counting on any backup qb to win you games you are being unrealistic. Look at the cowboys - Dalton was considered one of if not the best backup in the league, and the teams performance still dropped dramatically.

If your starter goes down for any length of time due to injury your just screwed, and therefore I think the importance of backup QB is way over blown.

It's sort of like saying an NBA team doesn't need a backup point guard.

I'm counting on a backup quarterback to be able to competently run the team if the starter gets injured.

It's not just about winning but an adequate backup quarterback can give a team a short term chance to win.

We saw what happens when the backup quarterback is Chris Streveler.

Usually.

Players need to get some rest during the game. There minimally needs to be distributors on the floor.

There are no separate offensive and defensive units except for situational substitutions.

Over the last 10 years how many of our 5th, 6th and 7th draft choice made a contribution or even remained in the Nfl for more than 3 years?
We can’t hit on our 1st thru 3rd round picks let alone comp picks.

But that is exactly why having more swings at the plate if beneficial.
There is only 22 starting jobs, the majority of which are set in stone before the draft. The back half of the draft is to take chance and or develop.

Does signing Conner (RB) impact our Comp picks at this point?

If so, when could we sign him without effect?

Yes, very likely a 7th round pick would be removed
But I do think they can sign him when all the signings won't have an impact

Actually we will have a fifth and two seventh round picks
I would like to ask if the players performance next season can change it?

i have yet to see actual numbers anywhere?

Normally, talking about the recent signings, we need a couple of days before knowing the terms
Obviously a tweet from someone thousand mile away from Arizona

Nope you are correct as it usually is a couple of days before the terms are made public.

Thats not true either. Many times we know as it’s announced or same day.

When we talk about the first wave of signings yes, often terms are leaked out by agents in the same day
But for later signings when numbers are low, the agents are not so eager to anticipate the terms, so are just coming out in 48 hours

As I said in my earlier post, these salary numbers come out right away. :hammer:

The Cardinals gave former Steelers’ RB James Conner a 1-year contract worth $1.25 million, all fully guaranteed, including a $500,000 signing bonus, a source told ESPN’a Adam Schefter.

Under 2 million that’s cheap.... and doesn’t effect Compensatory pics
