We call them snow birds. They live here in the winter then as soon as the weather starts getting miserable, they go back up north. It seems like half my neighbors right now are snowbirds from Boston.

Or Canada, I imagine.

Heck, Hollywood is more French than English.

That must be South Florida where Hollywood is because now that I think of it, growing up in Fort Lauderdale, I remember my dad cursing about the Canadian drivers - and seeing thousands of Canada license plates every year. I rarely see Canada plates here in Central Fla. Weird.

Well, to be fair, the last time you were with a woman was 12 years ago.

Handy's have gotten a lot better since then....

Ok, not really.

The lead detective said the videos they have showed "the acts" that took place, for all 25 people. So it sounds like it was either an unbelievable job of detective work to sneak cameras into the private rooms - or they worked with one of the massage therapists cooperating to minimize her sentence or maybe stay in the country?

Edit: Actually, I don't think it would be that difficult, as small as cameras can be. Massage therapists always give you a minute in private before the massage to slip into whatever makes you comfortable. So that would be the perfect time to toss a pen with a camera in the tip into your pile of clothes, then aim it towards the action - or even a set of keys with one of the keys being a camera.
So the cops pimped out the girls for two weeks and no one is questioning this?

No that was just a brain fart on my part. I shouldn't have made that edit. I think alcohol might have been involved. They did say they had the sex acts on video though. So the first part I originally posted would still make sense.

Two separate but connected issues - (1) Rich Guy "Indulging Himself." (2) Slavery.

#1 is all about an person's right to "pursue happiness", but #2 is unforgivable.

Things get a little tangled where Issue #1 intersects with (& influences) Issue #2 (& whether Mr Kraft knew what was going on - that's for the legal and justice systems to decide).

&, of course, there is the time-honored sin of "getting caught." (as singer, Oscar Brown Jr. put it: "y'all went and did it/now you're gonna git it.")

Feel badly for Mr. Kraft but feel much worse for the girls.

Why are people making such a big deal out of a misdemeanor? That's what he's been charged with. A misdemeanor. It's a freaking traffic ticket at best. Also, the guy is single so he wasn't cheating on a wife or anything. You'd think he murdered someone or was a part of the sex trafficking thing. That's not what he's being charged with. It's soliciting. But people are taking about taking away draft picks. For what?Is it newsworthy? Yes. Is it big enough to dominate the headlines more than a day? No.

Wow. You are missing the point.

He didn't frequent an escort who mostly prostitute willfully.

He went to a place that has TRAFFICKED HUMANS. SEX SLAVES.

If prostitution was legal, this place wouldn't be involved in trafficking and slavery and then Kraft could get a ******* from a consenting individual and this would be a nothingburger.

If he KNEW there was slavery and trafficking, I would have an opinion on him. If he just knew he could go there and get a ******* and was unaware of that, I could care less.

Legalize prostitution and these things mostly go away.

There is something contradictory if you get something for free it's legal, but if you pay for it, it is illegal.

It's the League that says that owners must be held to the highest standard and so a fine and a loss of draft picks may, in fact, be in the cards. And if you think the story disappears in a day, you really have no clue as to what titillates sections of the news / sports / entertainment media.

Allegedly. Can the Twittersphere wait for the evidence.

P S. in the meantime boycott all of the Chinese Restaurants since they use indentured "slaves" as low cost kitchen labor. Right?

BTW, it seems the "investigation was carried on under the guise of Health Dep't problems. Besides the court of public opinion, this thing seems to be a slam dunk nothing burger in a court of law.

Uh yes?????

By the way let’s wait for the details and facts to come out. If this ring did in fact coerced and force sexual servitude that’s is the opposite of a nothingburger. People using these “services” can’t claim ignorance.

Let’s see what comes out of this before you do the same as Twittersphere and call this a nothingburger. Am I right!!?

For Kraft and other patrons, this is probably true - but not for those, if convicted, who brought these women into the US.

I gleaned it from this crap:

"Is it newsworthy? Yes. Is it big enough to dominate the headlines more than a day? No."

As to your question: Couldn't care less but equal and I'd include the R. Kelly story in that same mix.

Oh I hope so. Years ago I had a client who managed a string of Chinese restaurants in South Florida. I was his marketing guy. We became friends. One of the nicest people I ever met in the business world. The stories he told me about how the Chinese restaurant business was run would make your hair curl. Disgusting tales of indentured slavery from which there is no walk away even after ascending in the chain of operation. I have no doubt this "massage" operation is the exact same business model.

Looks like.....
Most people charged for the first time for soliciting a prostitute in Florida are allowed to enter a diversion program, said attorney David Weinstein, a former prosecutor. Kraft would have to perform 100 hours of community service and pay to attend an educational program about the negative effects of prostitution and human trafficking.

We have lax laws when it comes to prostitution in many countries on this side of the Atlantic and sex slavery is still very much a problem.

I'm very much in favor of cracking down on human slavery. Those laws need to be enforced.

I don't think human slavery and prostitution are necessarily the same thing but unfortunately they get intertwined. The demand for sex will always be there. People should not have to get involved in shady acts to get it legally.

One thing about sex, not everyone can get it legally. Society tends to put everyone in the same mold. There are a myriad of good reasons why some have to go underground to get it.

Here's a thought: Before considering contributing to the illegal sex trade - simply ********.
