I disagree with that part. If a runningbacks legs are hurt and he can't contribute there's no reason at all for him to be on the field. Especially with guys like Turner and Sproles who can fill in. We as fans love warriors and we want to see guys who play through pain but there's a difference between hurt and injured. You can question LT's ability to stay healthy for a whole season plus playoffs but not his heart.

Based on the LT of last season and the Fargas of last season, my choice would be Fargas. Both are high character guys. LT was the best RB of his time. Neither is a FA yet.

We would absolutely have to look at LT if he became available. And I do think we have a shot at getting him for a fair price.

Why? Because we offer him a great chance at getting to the super bowl. And that is what he (and every other last gasp player) wants at this point in their career. Isn't that cool? That we, THE CARDS, can offer that opportunity. Add to that the fact that he could come play here and keep his home in San Diego allowing him the opportunity to fly back there just about every night if he that was his wish.

For that opportunity, he would have to be willing to come in and share carries with Hightower. If he was willing... count me in.

Good post. But IMO, Lt has more left in the tank that either Emmitt or Edge when they came here. I'd love to see the cards go after him for a couple or years, just like I'd love to see the cards go after Tony Gonzales.

Hey, he has a chance of being the next HoFer. He was looking A LOT like Barry Sanders. Dance at the line looking for the big play, but only manage a yard or so. Only difference is Sanders can make the big play. The new backs coach was the KC Chiefs guy when Larry Johnson was running for 1.7k yards a season, so let's hope that translates.

I think Edge came here with more in the tank when he signed here then LT currently is at right now. LT was a better back in his prime but Edge wasn't coming off any nagging injuries and still was very productive. If we did sign LT it better not be anymore than a 2 yr deal with a lot of incentives built in to the deal.

I totally agree with that bolded part though. Tony Gonzalez would be awesome in this offense.

I like LT as a player but I think we've already had our time with older RBs, without much success. I'd rather have a young guy we can have on the team for the next 8 years.
