combination,,,,
keep either Skelton or Hall
sign or trade for a mid level veteran
Draft a young hot shot Newton/Mallett

I have not seen Luck play much, but if the reports are true, if we get him in the draft, then we do not likely need to get a mid level vet.

Sadly option A is what I fear the FO will do

Unless, in the unlikely scenario, Hall or Skelton show promise, I highly doubt that. It is all but certain Anderson will be cut.

I think we draft a qb in the 1st round

I think I would dump Derek Anderson and Max Hall. I would try to sign 2 free agents; maybe Trent Edwards and Kellen Clemens and have an open competition between the two for the starting spot.

IF we have the opportunity to draft Luck, I would go for it. If not, there is bound to be an impact Linebacker/Defensive Back/Offensive Lineman we can take.

I think Cincy drafts a QB.......possibly Buffalo, but Fitzpatrick looks decent enough where they can fill holes on their roster.

Try and keep Hall by putting him on the practice squad.
Keep Skelton as the third stringer.
Draft a QB with the HIGH first round pick the Cards are sure to get. (Luck, Mallett, Cameron, etc...)
Sign a CAPABLE veteran as the starter.

1.
Cut Anderson
Cut Max Hall and put on practice squad, but who cares if someone picks him up
Keep Skelton

2.
Sign for the immediate future (if they are available):

In order of who I think would be best:
1. Ryan Fitzpatrick
2. Carson Palmer
3. Marc Bulger
4. Donovan McNabb

3. If Andrew Luck is there, then draft him. If not then they better find someone to consult with to determine what is left to draft, is better than Skelton. If Luck is not there, and the QB's left are no better than Skelton (determined by an OUTSIDE consultant) then sign a veteran backup: Tyler Thigpen, Jon Kitna, Brady Quinn, etc., etc.

So our QB situation would be:

1. Veteran
2. Luck/Draftee in later rounds/Vet Backup
3. Skelton

If we get one of these guys, it will take some serious coin and the Bidwills probaly won't want to pay for another FA to come in. So I can see DA :)pullhair:) and Skelton staying around if they just signed a new, young, big dolla QB.

We need to start with young and fresh talent a this position, I don't want another 2-4 year spurt. If we can get a young talented QB here, I can see pro-bowl talent at other important positions /via FA/ being much more open to coming to the desert

Step 1:

Cut Derek Anderson.

Step 2:

Determine whether Skelton or Hall are keepers. If you determine both are worth keeping, put one on the PS, keep the other as the third stringer.

Step 3:

Sign Carson Palmer when Cincy cuts him. Show up in Cincy the day his release is made official with a contract and one way airfare to Sky Harbor International Airport.

Step 4:

Draft Ricky Stanzi or Pat Devlin.

:D

Because Max Hall has been on the active roster for 9 games, he is not and never will be eligible for the practice squad for the Arizona Cardinals.

I think we'll probably try and draft a guy in the first 2 rounds, and then add Marc Bulger, and then go into the year with Bulger, Hall, and draft pick. John Skelton IS practice-squad eligible.

If I were in charge, I'd probably cut bait on Hall and Anderson, draft a guy in the first two rounds, and then go into the season with someone like Kellen Clemens/Tyler Thigpen, the draft pick, and Skelton in training camp competition.

Maybe they already know they made a mistake with Skelton and that's why he won't see the field this year. It would just showcase another epic screw up in the draft
