The U.S. men's national team will go into the March window without one of the team's most important players.

Tyler Adams missed out on the team's roster for friendlies against Belgium and Portugal, robbing the USMNT of the team's midfield linchpin.

Adams initially went down with an injury in training with Bournemouth on March 13, the day before a Premier League game against Burnley.

The midfielder missed that match and the Cherries' final game before the international break, a 2-2 draw against Manchester United on March 20.

After naming his March roster, USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino revealed that Bournemouth told him Adams would miss 2-3 weeks with a hamstring injury.

That could see Adams fit for Bournemouth's next game against Arsenal on April 11.

But with the USMNT facing Belgium on Saturday, March 28 and Portugal on Tuesday, March 31, the midfielder would not have recovered in time for the games at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Adams, who served as captain at the 2022 World Cup, has earned 52 caps while scoring two goals for the USMNT.

The 27-year-old played 10 times for the USMNT last year, most recently appearing in September matches against South Korea and Japan.
