Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams said he's “feeling strong and ready to go” after missing U.S. men's national team duty with an injury.
Adams was not on the USMNT roster for defeats against Belgium and Portugal in late March, having suffered a hamstring injury in training with Bournemouth.
The 27-year-old sat out two Premier League matches as well as the international break, but is set to return against Arsenal on Saturday, April 11.
“I was here for the international break," Adams told Bournemouth's website. "Unfortunately, I didn’t get to go and catch up with the U.S. team. I had to watch from afar but it was good to be here with the boys that stayed behind and get some good training in. I am feeling strong and ready to go.
“It also gave me a period of time to get stronger, get more fit and focus on the objectives with the boys here. The guys that stayed behind focused on training, focused on staying sharp, staying fit in preparation for a big game this weekend.
“I’m feeling consistent, I’m feeling strong now and I think it’s just important to finish the season strong.”
Bournemouth enters Saturday's game on an 11-match unbeaten run, which will be tested in a trip to north London to face the Premier League leaders.
“It’s a difficult team to prepare for. They have added so much depth to their team and that’s obviously why they are in the position they are in. They have so many quality players,” Adams said.
Adams, who served as captain at the 2022 World Cup, has earned 52 caps while scoring two goals for the USMNT.
The New York native played 10 times for the USMNT last year, most recently appearing in September matches against South Korea and Japan.
