I'm going to throw out a name, and first thoughts will be to skewer me and what a terrible choice he'd be.
He's an offensive minded coach. He's been a HC in the NFL previously and was very successful.
From 2014-2019 he only had 1 year with a losing record and made the playoffs 4 times.
Bill O'brien.
Just don't let him be the GM
As long as he doesn't trade away MHJ for a washed up RB.

The offense that scored 17 at home v the Cardinals?

Wonderful!
It’s the best that Bidwill will be able to attract. And you can pick apart anybody if you go off a one game sample. Fact is the Cowboys offense has improved to be one of the best in the league this year and our running game with virtually the same roster is horrible all of a sudden after he left. anybody who thinks we’re gonna land some amazing head coach with experience is delusional. Sean Payton was never gonna coach this team.

HC calls the plays. Adams barely qualified?

Just to be clear, the question is who do you think the next HC will be, not who do you want the HC to be. I can picture Bidwill listening to all the talk around Adams leaving and thinking “I can get him for cheap and I know him”.

Have to wonder why Monti didn’t reach out to him the first time around

Hard to project a new HC 12+ months from now. Maybe we’ll have a prime enough pick in 2027 that the job will be more attractive.

Fear Not My Friends. Several good young candidates for HC this offseason if the Cards move off of Gannon:

Cardinals OC Drew Petzing, 38; and DC Nick Rallis, 32: When Jonathan Gannon took the Arizona head coaching job three years ago, he assembled the NFL's youngest staff, with designs on letting bright young coaches he knew well grow into big roles. And while it's been a trying season for the Cardinals, who sit at 3-7 with five one-score losses, people around the league have taken notice of how the plan is unfolding. Last year, the Bears had a head-coaching opening and interviewed Petzing, a one-time Middlebury College defensive back who has risen through the ranks, starting as a football operations intern with the Browns in 2013. Two of Petzing's three seasons as OC have been impacted by injuries to QB Kyler Murray; Arizona has still made strides as this season has gone on. Rallis, a former Edina High School and Minnesota linebacker (and younger brother of WWE star Mike Rallis, a.k.a. Riddick Moss), is considered a rising star. Gannon brought him to Philadelphia and then Arizona, where Rallis calls the defensive plays. Like Arizona's offense, the defense, too, is middle of the pack. But many within the league believe it's a matter of when, not if, Rallis gets his shot to run the show.

Here’s an insane thought as I listen to college football discussion.

Bill Belichick.

He is probably on the outs at North Carolina, and it’s rumored he wants back in the NFL.

Bring in McDaniels as assistant HC/OC with the view of stepping down in a few years when he’s ready to retire, and there’s already an existing relationship with Monti.

I don't see Josh McDaniel's leaving New England anytime soon.

For me, Klint Kubiak is by far the best way to go. Innovative young playcaller, knows the division, proven winner, can work with a new quarterback. No idea if he can control an entire team, but he could get help on the coaching staff. Also, he probably knows a thing or two from his dad.

Mike LeFleur could be another option as the characteristics are many of the same. Only he has also had a fiasco, though you could argue that it is probably difficult to get success with the Jets and Zach Wilson, a subpar offensive line and questionable WR unit.

I also like that both of them have experience working with both Kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay.

Chris Shula figures to be a strong candidate on the carousel, but it’s just that no defensive coach from the McVay-tree has become a success as a head coach, and I also don’t really want a defensive guy. Which also rules out Salah.

Mike McCarthy is kind of attractive to me since he has proven several times that he can stabilize organisations, even if he doesn’t make them great.

Mike McCarthy earned credibility by showing that a retread coach actually can change. He adapted and evolved as a HC and had decent success in his stint in Dallas.

But yes, I am also an advocate for stealing offensive coaches from either the McVay or Shanahan coaching trees. These guys are proven winners and have produced winners as well (Kevin O'Connell and Matt LeFleur to name a few...You can even throw in Mike McDaniel if you want...Say what you will about him but he still has a winning record in Miami).

The only concern however with hiring from their offensive staff is realizing McVay and Shanahan do not allow their offensive coordinators to call plays. Sure they help with the game plan, but they still call the plays as HC. I want this kind of coach again (Kliff keeps looking like a better coach with each passing game lol)

All that to say I wonder if McVay and Shanahan never truly pour into their staff because they know if they give them all the secrets of their successful playcalling they will simply leave them and use it against them in the future. Just a hypothesis but I wouldn't be shocked if there's some truth in them keeping everything close to the vest, even with their offensive coaches.

I’d be okay with Saleh, but my preference is Kiffin. I think any aggressive DC can handle the DC job and Kiffin is a creative offensive mind who also can build a QB.

Sounds as though he'll have his choice of jobs in college or the NFL, and I'd think the Cardinals would be last on his list of potential destinations.

Saleh and McCarthy would be awful choices.
Really, what do they bring to the table?
