Mike Lafleur, Mick Lombardi, or Brian Griese for me.

I'm definitely opposed to Gruden as our next head coach but I don't think McCarthy would be that bad relatively speaking. He could get us into the playoffs although we almost certainly wouldn't get close to the Super Bowl.
People need to get over the"hurtful" joke that Gruden said a long time ago. Who the F cares.

He would whip this team into shape in no time.

Jon Gruden's career head coaching record is
117 wins and 112 losses in the regular season, with a 5-4 record in the postseason. This includes a 38-26 record with the Raiders, a 57-55 record with the Buccaneers, and a 29-36 record in his second stint with the Raiders, and he won Super Bowl XXXVII with the Buccaneers.

Regular season

  • Overall: 117-112 (.511)
  • Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders (1998–2001): 38-26 (.594)
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2002–2008): 57-55 (.511)
  • Las Vegas Raiders (2018–2021): 29-36 (.448)

Postseason

  • Overall: 5-4 (.556)
  • Super Bowl: Won Super Bowl XXXVII with the Buccaneers

I dont mean to hijack the thread, but I am far more interested in who can come here and run the Football operations. HC will follow that

I think they need a respected NFL name to give the org some respectability -- otherwise you get guys taking the job who beleive they have no better options

McCarthy won a SB. Maybe it's time the Cardinals try a HC with a winning record at multiple stops, instead of dudes with zero HC experience.

I'm not for Patricia but he has been excellent for OSU and is nothing like what people expected from his Lions days. He has been upbeat, enthusiastic, and even funny. Not nearly the curmudgeon everyone had expected.

I think with the Lions, he was trying to like Belichick. Now he's being himself.

Yea, 100 years ago.

Remember, he got fired at those stops because he refused to update his scheme.

Arians also had zero HC experience.

Other than the fact he's probably going to LSU or Florida, Kiffin would be the guy to hire.

Arians was literally coach of the year, as an interim HC, the year before AZ hired him...lol
Forgot about that. My bad.

Still, McCarthy would be better an idiotic hire.

Best would be going for a young offensive minded guy that HAS NFL experience like a Josh Grizzard from Tampa.

I'm going to throw out a name, and first thoughts will be to skewer me and what a terrible choice he'd be.
He's an offensive minded coach. He's been a HC in the NFL previously and was very successful.
From 2014-2019 he only had 1 year with a losing record and made the playoffs 4 times.
Bill O'brien.
Just don't let him be the GM

Klayton Adams. we are not going to get an experienced quality HC. He knows our team and has made the Cowboys offense way better than it was.
