K1 had the last laugh watching the team go 0-9 (after next week’s spanking) since naming Brisket the starter. Kyler has been scapegoated over and over by this organization and now it’s abundantly clear he was not the reason the team was losing games. In fact, he was the reason the team won any games at all! They can’t win without him! No way he returns to this clown show even if they beg, which they should.

Kyler is a perfectly mediocre QB when it's all said and done. Not a knock, many never reach or flat out fail in the NFL.

But, that's why it's time to move on. Other than injury concerns, QB salaries are ballooned too much, and guys like him will anchor a team in purgatory.

Which came first, the mediocre QB or the perpetual rebuild

Let’s assume 2 things.
Brissett is nothing but our 2nd string.
Kyler is being moved.

So now what? I know there’s talk about trading up. Trading down. Praying one of the 3 top qb’s slip to us. But what if they don’t? Take a chance on a second round qb?

So play GM. What’s your options? Im ruling out trading up. We have too many holes. I don’t think a qb in the second round really helps us compete in 2026. Those first two picks will fill 2 holes
( theoretically).I think all this chatter about Lamar Jackson or Joe Burrow not real options.
I’m ruling out Russell Wilson, Arron Rodgers and Joe Flacco.

I desire a guy with some running ability.
Kenny Picket? Nah.
Mac Jones. Nope not giving up picks to the 49ers.
Zach Wilson? Nope.

How about Malik Willis? He’s got some time learning on the bench. Could Green Bay’s OC Alex Stenavich be a head coach candidate?
"What you talking about, Willis"? Have you seen the paucity of his track record? Might as well troll college campuses for second string QBs. What a laugh to see Murray as winning. Just tons of teams lined up for this egotistical overpriced one trick pony. Not my job to get the ball to Wilson, Harrison or McBride in the end zone. Nothing was this Bruce Lee wanna be's job with his cool all black clothes job except Call of Duty, lifting weights and tossing balls to his bros in the offseason. Is this the leadership principle of his generation? Whomever the QB is I hope he can crack the 200 yds passing per game which Murray couldnt crack.

Boy wish someone would scapegoat me with the extension the team gave him. This is good news though as surely other teams will see how good he is and that he was a scapegoat in Arizona. Can’t wait to see the bundle we get in a trade.

Willis would be a good choice but very expensive. All the eggs in one basket
Fool's gold IMO. Matt LeFleur or his kind will not be here.
I’ll grant he’s had limited playing time. Still his career QB rating is 98.9. His completion % is 68. His TD to interception rate is 2 to 1. He’s raw, but he’s a double threat QB. If he’ll sign for 2 years that’s better than the 4 year draft commitment. It all depends on how much he can get from the open market. If the money’s right, I’m in.

Interesting. Just read he has a no trade clause and counts $74.5M towards the cap in 2026 and 2027.
Since the Wilson deal teams seem to be considering this tactic. Count the Cards and Dolphins among those teams.

I was leaning that way, but I changed my mind watching the Ravens game. That game I saw the vision Petzing had with Kyler in his offense. Willis was modern Kyler expect taller/sturdier and with more poise (although he also had a snap to the face fumble).

It depends on how much he commands in the open market. If we could get him at a significant discount to the usual QB1 contract I think its worth a shot. Willis could work as an inexpensive game manager that can keep defense off balance with his legs, while being efficient in his limited passing attempts.

Murray is under contract. He has no say on his future with the Big Red. If Bidwill says dance then Murray dances. I am sure that contract requires Murray to engage in promotional events. Bidwill could order Murray to comply with his contract and go sign autographs in front of the stadium other venue. I just hope whomever is playing QB in the future they dont have to pay him 200 million dollars to do it or otherwise just sign over controlling interest.

The starting QB next year is going to be Jacoby.
He's either a place holder for a rookie or starting and layin' for Sayin.

I figure 20 to 25 per is what he would command….maybe more….if we did land him do you try and trade down for love then go Iowa tackle….Oregon tackle etc at 37? Wonder if we go all in on offense like we did the defense last year? Or do we trade down for Simpson? Thing is we couldn’t trade down far cause the rams will be picking soon after….if they want Simpson we will have to take him at 5

The only one that would slightly interest me is Flacco, and he's older than dirt.

Of course, if the entire Front office and coaching staff return, it doesn't matter.
Yeah… I’d go Flacco as the stop-gap if we’re able to draft a QB in round 1.

Brissett has filled in admirably, but he stinks end of day and if I have a rookie, I’d rather have him learn from winner/champion like Flacco who can still sling it on occasion than a journeyman backup who lost 12 of his last 13 games for the team.

Malik Willis (Barf)

2yr deal on a try on Willis

Only 3 starts and 89 pass attempts, but... over the last 2 years, Willis is 2-1 as a starter, completed 70-89 (78.7%) with 6 TDs and 0 INTs with a passer rating of 134.6, and QBRs of 77.3 and 93.5! He also has 42 rushing attempts for 261 yards and 3 TDs.
