The offensive line has become one of the more appreciated aspects of team-building after being forgotten about for years, it seemed. Teams now build up their offenses through the trenches before attempting to add the right quarterback and pieces to make plays happen.
The one spot specifically of the offensive line that gets built up is the offensive tackle position. Some teams, like the Vikings, have made it a point to have bookend tackles in place to protect the interior aspects of the line. They have both Christian Darrisaw and Brian O'Neill in place, who are working on new extensions completed over the last couple of seasons, and they make the Minnesota line one of the best.
We say this because PFF recently ranked the top offensive tackles in the NFL, and we wanted to see where they ranked. When it came to Brian O'Neill, he ranked 14th overall in their piece, making him just inside the top half of their rankings.
They wrote about the ranking, saying, "O’Neill played a career-low 734 snaps in 2025, but turned in some of his best work when he was on the field. His 81.6 PFF grade was the 12th-best mark among qualified tackles. O’Neill dominated on the ground with a career-high 84.5 PFF run-blocking grade that ranked eighth among that same group. Assuming O’Neill and running mate Christian Darrisaw are healthy, they should be the foundation of a premier offensive line in Minnesota."
His teammate, Christian Darrisaw, ranked 18th in the rankings, meaning the Vikings are one of a few teams that can say both tackles made the top 32.
