Kevin O'Connell wants the Minnesota Vikings to be more physical and run the ball more in 2026. Having a healthy Christian Darrisaw could go a long way in helping achieve those goals.

On Tuesday, O'Connell spoke with the media for the first time since June 11. He was asked if Darrisaw, who started 10 games in 2025 in his return from an ACL/MCL injury suffered in 2024, is healthy going into training camp.

"He's had a healthy offseason, and he's really built up to a place where I know he's excited to get going," O'Connell said, according to Alec Lewis of The Athletic.

Last year, there was optimism in camp that Darrisaw would be ready for Week 1. But he missed the first two weeks after being a game-time decision, and his presence was missed.

Even after returning to the lineup in Week 3, Darrisaw never seemed fully comfortable. He missed five more games, leaving the lineup early in Week 5 against the Browns in London. Two games later, he left a Thursday night matchup against the Chargers after only nine plays.

His 65.6 PFF grade was the lowest of his five-year career, as was his 69.8 run-blocking grade. Being another year removed from his injury should hopefully help Darrisaw return to his old self. If he does, many of the Vikings' offensive line woes will disappear.
