The Minnesota Vikings have made it a point to protect whoever is under center with a strong offensive line. They have done a good job drafting their bookend tackles while showing off their front office skills, while building the interior in a variety of ways.
They have shown to be invested in the group due to the play and leadership of their tackles. Both Christian Darrisaw and Brian O'Neill have received extensions, with the latter getting one done this week. In fact, it was the newly extended offensive lineman who spoke this week about the unit and the team in general in a glowing way.
O'Neil talked about the "urgency" the team has around them and is playing with in 2026.
He explained, The urgency and the intensity in this building and the meetings rooms has been turned up to a level that I haven't seen in a few years, for sure. In terms of not necessarily goals, but standards."
Urgency certainly is a good way to describe the Vikings in 2026 for a variety of reasons. They are making some changes on defense with younger players stepping up, the offense is still looking for a quarterback, and the coaching staff has some seats that may be heating up. It all is adding up, but having a fire lit under them may be exactly what they need as O'Neill explains it.
