If Kyler really cares about winning AND proving himself, he’ll take a prove it contract with one of those teams… if they even show interest, via cut or trade.
100% speculation based on what I feel we have seen from Kyler. His priority list will look like this.

1 - starting
2 - a decent prove it salary
3 - a "winning" situation

This is the guy who doesn't have a private QB coach and doesn't feel like he is the problem. I am sure in his mind, he brings the winning element.

Did I miss something? Kyler has to take a prove it deal somewhere? He has a contract through 2027 or 2028 with the Club Option which I assume is transferrable. Doesn't this mean he is a trade option? Or are folks saying we won't get anything for him and we will cut him?

If I am Bidwill and the cap relief is not major I would be tempted to not cut him but use him as a kick/punt returner/wildcat QB/wide receiver or maybe just make him be the water boy. All just to screw with a guy who committed major fraud.

I can see the KC Chiefs taking Kyler after he is cut especially since they have lost Mahomes with the ACL. HC Andy Reid
knows how to develop QBs and IMO Kyler would do well there. They won't trade for him but wait till he is cut.
Just my two cents.

The question is will Kyler prefer to take 8 mil in KC or 20-30 mil elsewhere?

Kyler would actually fit the Dolphins offense they don't air it out downfield and he's a much better runner than Tua, but Tua makes so much money I can't see them taking on Kyler.

Vikings still an option although JJ has played a bit better of late.

Aside from the others, now both the Colts and the Chiefs are teams who could possibly take a look at Kyler since they both lost starters for probably most of next year if not all

Mahomes has a $500m contract. No way that happens.

I know the game is different now, but I was thinking about Jake Plummer and how he went to Denver and became a better QB under Shanahan. His career stats with the Cardinals are absolutely mind boggling when you look at them.

He threw 90 TDs and rushed for 10 with the Cardinals in six seasons. He had 114 interceptions and 54 fumbles playing for the Cardinals!

Yet, Shanahan took him, changed his style, and got a 13-3 season out of him in 2005 and he threw 18 TDs with 7 interceptions which was the best TD/INT ratio of his career. In four of six seasons with the Cardinals he threw more INTs than TDs including the magical 1997 season when we made the playoffs and beat Dallas.

So, yeah, somebody is going to think they can make Kyler work in their offense. Coaches haven't changed that much.

I was thinking...call the Colts and offer kyler straight up for Alec Peirce .....

but, Peirce has not been re signed and is an UFA this off season...

so yeah, we need to go get that guy...
dudes...
Peirce is 6'5 and runs a 4.3

Line up with Peirce, Harrison, and Wilson...and the dudes are interchangeable.....out wide...slot...X....Z...whatever...
can run first down with Marv at X and Peirce in the slot...then switch them up on 2nd down...or put Wilson at X...and just move Peirce to Z

the combination of size, speed, and route running ability would produce an offense thats unpredictable and maybe unstoppable with the right guy under center.
oh yeah...did I mention in addition to those 3...all world NFL #1 Tight End Trey "Boom-Boom" McBride would be dominating the middle of the field?

Trading up to get Mendoza after signing Alec Peirce in free agency...and maybe an OT in round 2...
that would have me in uncontrollable giggle fits...
assuming of course....that The Petzing has been retired.
oh yeah...and every skill player on offense would be under 26...so we could expect years of time together.

I've got a question. If the Cardinals trade Kyler and retain half of his salary, does that reduce his cap hit 50%? If so, I think they could get someone to bite and maybe get a third or fourth round draft choice in the deal. Of course this assumes he will be starting for someone next season.

IMO the only way we get any decent trade value back with Kyler is to eat a good portion of his contract. Other teams are smart, and will just wait for him to be cut outright. A few aggressive teams may bite on KM only if their salary obligations are much reduced.

I agree that the only way we can trade Kyler is to eat a large part of his contract...maybe half to three quarters, but does that reduce our cap hit? If a team wants Kyler, it would be smart to give up a mid to late draft choice and guaranty that they get him, verses waiting for him to be released and risking that he signs with another team.
