Welcome to the fifth installment of Seacoast high school Athletes of the Week for the 2026 spring sports season, presented by York County Community College.

This week, and in weeks to come, you can vote for a girls ahtlete and a boys athlete of the week.

This week's polls are for outstanding athletic accomplishments from May 11-16.

How do I cast my vote?​


Voting can be completed through the two ballots listed below. Voting closes midnight Thursday, May 21.

How do we learn who wins?​


Winners will be announced in a story published Friday, May 22 at seacoastonline.com/sports and fosters.com/sports.

May I nominate for future ballots?​


Yes. Nominate a Seacoast high school athlete by sending an email to [email protected]. Feel free to send us a photo of the athlete, too.

BOYS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES​

Maverick Cates, Spaulding, lacrosse​


You must be registered for see images attach


Cates recorded 25 saves in Spaulding's 15-5 loss to Kingswood on Friday, May 15.

Parker Ketcham, Dover, lacrosse​


You must be registered for see images attach


Ketcham scored four goals and had four assists in Dover's 19-7 win over Nashua South on Friday, May 15. He scored three goals with five assists in Dover's 22-9 win over Windham on Tuesday, May 12. He scored two goals and had two assists in a 20-9 loss to Bedford on Wednesday, May 13.

Jeff Keyes, Oyster River, lacrosse​


Keyes scored five goals and had four assits, reaching the 100-point milestone, in the Bobcats' 16-3 win over Hollis-Brookline on Friday, May 15.

Zavier Lampert, Portsmouth, baseball​

Lampert struck out seven, allowed two hits across six innings in Portsmouth's 10-0 win over Windham on Wednesday, May 13. Lampert also hit a three-run homer and had four RBIs.

Sam Therrien, Marshwood, baseball​


You must be registered for see images attach


Therrien went six innings, allowed six hits and struck out nine batters for Marshwood's 4-1 win over Deering on Monday, May 11.


GIRLS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES​

Arden Langmaid, Winnacunnet, softball​


You must be registered for see images attach


Langmaid had three hits and two RBIs, and scored the game-winning run in the Warriors' Division I win over Dover on Monday, May 11. Langmaid also had one hit and scored two runs in Winnacunnet's 8-3 Division I win over Bishop Guertin on Wednesday, May 13.

Karlee Norris, Exeter, outdoor track​


Norris won the 300 hurdles (51.01 seconds) and was third in the 100 hurdles (18.24), as Exeter placed second in a three-team meet at Nashua North on Tuesday, May 12.

Sarah Orso, York, softball​

Orso had three hits, with a home run and five RBIs in York's 10-3 win over Freeport on Monday, May 11. Orso also hit two home runs in York's 5-4 Class B South loss to Lake Region on Wednesday, May 13.

Ashlyn Szelog, Oyster River, lacrosse​


You must be registered for see images attach


Szelog scored seven goals and had one assist in the Bobcats' 15-6 Division II win over Merrimack on Monday, May 11; and scored one goal and four assists in Oyster River's 10-9 Division II, double overtime win over Hollis-Brookline on Friday, May 15.

Mattie Williams, St. Thomas Aquinas, softball​

Williams had six hits and five RBIs combined across the Saints' doubleheader wins over Kearsarge (21-9; 18-2) on Monday, May 11. Williams also hit a grand slam, her first home run, in the Saints' 17-2 win over Hillsboro-Deering on Tuesday, May 14.
