Welcome to the seventh installment of Seacoast high school Athletes of the Week for the 2026 spring sports season, presented by York County Community College.

This week, and in weeks to come, you can vote for a girls athlete and a boys athlete of the week.

This week's polls are for outstanding athletic accomplishments from May 25-30.

How do I cast my vote?​


Voting can be completed through the two ballots listed below. Voting closes midnight Thursday, June 4.

How do we learn who wins?​


Winners will be announced in a story published Friday, June 5 at seacoastonline.com/sports and fosters.com/sports.

May I nominate for future ballots?​


Yes. Nominate a Seacoast high school athlete by sending an email to [email protected]. Feel free to send us a photo of the athlete, too.

BOYS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES​

Brendan Dowling, York, lacrosse​

Dowling recorded nine saves for the Wildcats in a 15-5 win over Class A Gorham on Tuesday, May 26.

Leo Guarracino, Portsmouth, outdoor track​


Guarracino competed in the Division I state championship meet, winning the state title in the pole vault with a jump of 14 feet 2 inches.

Samuel Nunoo-Quarcoo, Oyster River, outdoor track​


Nunoo-Quarcoo won the 300 hurdles (41.07), and was second in the discus (117-05) as Oyster River placed fourth in Division II in the state championship meet on Saturday, May 30.

Breyden Sanchez, St. Thomas Aquinas, outdoor track​


Sanchez was third in both the 100 (11.48) and 200 (23.58) and fifth in the long jump (20-04) in the Division III state championship meet on Saturday, May 30.

Michael Sbrizza, Marshwood, baseball​

Sbrizza had two hits, including a three-run home run, and drove in four runs in Marshwood's 20-3 win over Kennebunk on Thursday, May 28.


GIRLS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK NOMINEES​

Claire Dimke, Oyster River, softball​


Dimke, freshman, pitched a five-inning no-hitter, while recording six strikeouts to help lead Oyster River to a 13-0 win over Campbell on Tuesday, May 26. Dimke also had a hit and RBI.

McKinley Fowler, Winnacunnet, lacrosse​

Fowler scored five goals and one assist in the Warriors' 19-6 win over Hanover on Wednesday, May 27; four goals and one assist in the Warriors' 10-4 win over Merrimack on Friday, May 29; one goal in Winnacunnet's 8-6 win over Londonderry on Thursday, May 28; and two goals in the Warriors' 12-8 loss to Division I Pinkerton on Monday, May 25.

Ella Neiverth, York, lacrosse​

Neiverth scored two goals in York's 11-3 loss to Greely, and also scored two goals in York's 9-3 loss to North Yarmouth Academy on Saturday, May 30. Also on Saturday, Neiverth placed ninth in the long jump at the Western Maine Conference Championship at Lake Region.

Kianna Pasterczyk, Marshwood, softball​


Pasterczyk had three hits, including two solo home runs, to help lead Marshwood to a 8-5 win over Kennebunk on Tuesday, May 26.

Lexi Paterna, Exeter, outdoor track​

Paterna won the 1,600, setting a state and Division I record in 5 minutes, 08.78 seconds. She also won the 3,200 in 10:41.40, and was second in the 800 (2:11.58).
